Job Title: IT Manager
Department: Information Technology Department
Work Set Up: Hybrid
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer
The IT Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s technology function by developing and executing strategies that ensure reliable IT operations, secure and scalable technology infrastructure, data-driven decision-making, and digital innovation. The role oversees the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology services, enterprise systems, business intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies to support business growth and operational excellence.
The IT Manager provides leadership to the IT department, manages technology resources, establishes governance and standards, and partners with business leaders to identify and deliver technology solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Establish IT policies, standards, governance, and best practices to ensure consistency, security, and operational excellence.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that create business value.
- Drive continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives across the organization.
- Ensure technology investments support long-term business growth and scalability.
IT Service Delivery
- Ensure the effective delivery of IT services that meet business needs and agreed service levels.
- Oversee the availability, reliability, and performance of technology infrastructure, business systems, and end-user services.
- Establish service management processes, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Enterprise Systems & Applications
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and integration of enterprise applications and business systems.
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for process improvement through technology.
- Manage system lifecycle planning, upgrades, and technology adoption.
Data, Analytics & Automation
- Promote a data-driven culture by enabling reliable reporting, analytics, and business insights.
- Support the development and adoption of business intelligence, automation, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to streamline business processes and enhance productivity.
Information Security & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and controls.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Oversee cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability management, access controls, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Lead the response and recovery efforts for technology-related incidents.
Project & Change Management
- Lead technology projects from planning through implementation while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Drive organizational adoption of new technologies through effective change management and communication.
Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Evaluate technology solutions and negotiate contracts to maximize value.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Monitor software licensing, maintenance agreements, and technology assets.
Leadership & People Management
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing technology team.
- Define team priorities, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Coach and mentor employees to develop technical and leadership capabilities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and customer service.
- Plan workforce requirements to support current and future business needs.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Information Technology.
- At least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Experience managing technology operations, enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading cross-functional technology teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
