Salary: $29.81 - $41.73 per hour, plus 4% annual bonus
Location: Columbus, OH, Merrillville, IN, Lexington, KY, Chester, VA, or Canonsburg, PA (or any location in the six states we operate)
Travel:100% daily travel with company vehicle

The NiSource IT infrastructure teams designs, develops, and supports technology solutions across products and platforms. Team members work in Agile teams, using technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
The IT Low Voltage Field Technicianis responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of technology systems deployed at company facilities and within fleet vehicles. This role supports the reliable operation of utility services by ensuring field deployed technology functions safely, securely, and consistently. The position requires regular travel to company locations and fleet sites to perform hands on technical work, as well as the ability to provide remote support when needed.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Travel daily to company locations and fleet sites to install, diagnose, maintain, repair, and support vehicle installed and facility-based technology systems
Install, troubleshoot, and repair 12-volt DC vehicle wiring, low voltage electronics, and associated hardware, including telematics devices, routers, power timers, and mobile computing equipment
Provide onsite and remote technical support for network connected devices, mobile systems, and field technology platforms
Configure, deploy, and support mobile devices and applications, including basic user training and troubleshooting
Accurately document service activities, including diagnostics performed, repairs completed, parts used, and customer or end user interactions
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders, vendors, and end users to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction
Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and inventory in proper working condition
Track, submit, and report expenses in accordance with company policies and procedures
Identify recurring technical issues, recommend corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery processes
Apply structured problem-solving techniques to diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and implement effective solutions
Comply with contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), and expectations of service providers and business partners
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of experience working in field service, vehicle electronics, utility technology, or a related technical support role
3+ years of experience working on 12-volt DC vehicle wiring and low voltage electronic systems
Ability and willingness to travel daily to multiple job sites
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including working in confined spaces and lifting equipment
Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record
Experience in the utility, energy, telecommunications, or fleet services industry
Experience with telematics systems, mobile technology deployments, or fleet technology installations
Familiarity with safety critical or regulated operating environments
Industry certifications related to networking, electronics, vehicle systems, or field service
