The Junior IT Infrastructure Analyst supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of the organization’s IT infrastructure, with a focus on backup and disaster recovery. This role assists with backup and recovery operations, virtualization, Windows Server and Active Directory administration, storage, and network infrastructure. The position also monitors infrastructure health, troubleshoots technical issues, maintains documentation, and works collaboratively with the IT team on infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and disaster recovery initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and support backup and disaster recovery systems and investigate and resolve failed backup jobs.
• Perform backup restores and assist with recovery testing and disaster recovery exercises.
• Monitor server, storage, virtualization, and backup infrastructure health, performance, and capacity.
• Perform Windows Server administration and routine infrastructure maintenance, including Active Directory.
• Troubleshoot server, storage, virtualization, backup, and network-related issues, escalating complex issues when necessary.
• Assist with physical and virtual server deployments, upgrades, patching, and hardware replacement.
• Support backup repositories, replication, retention, and off-site disaster recovery infrastructure.
• Assist with LAN/WAN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other infrastructure connectivity troubleshooting.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, including system configurations, backup and disaster recovery procedures, and technical notes.
• Collaborate with and provide technical assistance to other IT team members as needed to support day-to-day IT operations.

Experience Requirements:
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, backup/recovery, or related technical support is preferred.
• Candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong technical knowledge, relevant education, or hands-on experience will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup and recovery platform, such as Veeam Backup & Replication or a comparable solution.
• Hands-on experience with at least one virtualization platform, such as VMware ESXi/vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V, or a comparable solution.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong written documentation and technical note-taking skills
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Working knowledge of virtualization concepts
• Working knowledge of backup and disaster recovery concepts, including:
◦ Backup and restore
◦ Replication
◦ Backup retention
◦ Off-site and disaster recovery copies
• Working knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN connectivity.

Beneficial to have:
While not required, experience with any of the following technologies would be considered an asset:
• Microsoft 365 Administration
• Enterprise storage, RAID, SAN, or NAS systems
• PowerShell
• Multi-site IT environments
• Infrastructure monitoring tools
• Infrastructure documentation and disaster recovery runbooks

Education:
• A university degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology, computer systems, or a related field, or equivalent IT certifications
The following certifications are considered assets:
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
• Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• VMware or Veeam-related certifications
Candidates currently studying toward these certifications are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:
• Vancouver-based
• This is an onsite position
• May occasionally be required to perform infrastructure maintenance outside regular business hours
• Occasional travel to project sites, Company offices, and other locations may be required, including provincial, national, or international travel.
