Job Description

The IT & Telco sub-category is part of ArcelorMittal’s European Procurement Organisation (EPO). The team supports the sourcing and contract management of IT hardware, software, services, telecommunications, outsourcing and IT projects across the European perimeter. It works closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, Legal, Finance and suppliers to deliver reliable, competitive and compliant procurement solutions.

Responsiblities:

  • Support the IT & Telco procurement team in sourcing and tender activities for IT hardware, software, services, telecommunications and related projects.
  • Assist buyers in preparing RFQ documentation, collecting offers, comparing supplier proposals and maintaining clear traceability of decisions.
  • Perform basic price, benchmark and TCO analysis to support supplier shortlisting and negotiation preparation.
  • Maintain procurement records such as purchase requests, purchase orders, contract documents, supplier information, action trackers and reporting files.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to clarify needs, gather inputs and follow up on open actions in a timely and structured manner.
  • Support vendor communication, meeting preparation, minutes, follow-up actions and performance information collection.
  • Help ensure compliance with ArcelorMittal procurement process, governance requirements and applicable quality management practices.
  • Contribute to process improvement, data cleansing, market research and preparation of management presentations for IT & Telco procurement topics.

Profile Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong academic interest in procurement, IT, vendor management, digital transformation or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical mindset, comfort with numbers and ability to work with procurement, pricing and spend data.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; ability to structure information clearly for reports and presentations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and follow-ups with limited supervision.
  • Curiosity for IT, software, hardware, cloud, telecom and digital services markets; willingness to learn procurement tools and processes.
  • Team player with a proactive, service-oriented mindset and ability to work in an international environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and respect for procurement governance and compliance requirements.
  • Fluency in English is required; working proficiency in French or another European language is a plus.
  • Internship or academic project experience in purchasing, supply chain, finance, data analysis, IT, consulting, vendor management or project coordination is preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience using Excel for data analysis, reporting or dashboards is desirable.
  • Previous exposure to an international, industrial or matrix organisation is a plus.
  • Exposure to procurement, supply chain, finance, business analytics, IT asset management or vendor management would be a plus.
  • Basic understanding of ERP / procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ivalua or similar tools would be a plus.
  • Initial knowledge of contracts, RFQs, vendor comparison, total cost of ownership or market research methods would be a plus.
  • Exposure to developing economy markets would be a plus.
