Support our mission and community with secure technology systems.
At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we train guide dogs to create partnerships with individuals who are blind or visually impaired. We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Specialist for Oregon that provides technical support across all computer systems, networks, telephony, security systems, audiovisual equipment, and software applications and is primarily dedicated as support for the OR campus. This role works closely with IT team members, end users, and external vendors to complete projects, resolve escalated issues, and ensure reliable operation of technology systems.
This role reports directly to the VP of the OR campus and maintains a dotted-line relationship with the IT Infrastructure Manager in CA. The VP provides day-to-day leadership, performance management, operational accountability, campus priorities, and oversight of local execution. The IT Infrastructure Manager provides strategic and programmatic guidance to ensure alignment with the IT vision, goals, standards, security, change management, and key outcomes. The IT Infrastructure Manager reports to the Director of Information Technology, keeping this role's work connected to the broader IT strategy and security posture.
When OR campus-assigned tasks or priorities conflict with the IT department’s organization-wide requirements, standards, or security obligations, IT requirements must take precedence, and the IT Infrastructure Manager or Director of Information Technology may reprioritize those tasks. The IT Infrastructure Specialist should promptly communicate any such conflicts to both the VP and the IT Infrastructure Manager so they can be resolved collaboratively. The successful candidate will be able to identify these potential conflicts and collaborate effectively across these relationships to support both campus priorities and the broader IT vision.
This is a campus-based position with a hybrid work schedule available after an initial onboarding period.
