POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Implementation Engineer II is a senior, a client facing member of the Professional Services team responsible for implementing new technology solutions. The engineer works primarily independently and serves as the technical lead on larger projects, while also providing escalation support for high-priority issues. Success in this role requires strong customer service, communication, collaboration, and advanced technical expertise across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
- Build, configure, and deploy complex technology solutions including, but not limited to, cloud services, hybrid (cloud and on-premises) infrastructure, virtual and physical servers, networking, storage, and workstations.
- Create, configure, migrate, and manage virtualized environments including VMware and Hyper-V
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and core network architectures and protocols
- Administer Active Directory environments, including creating new domains and migrating existing domains
- Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Implement, migrate, administer, and support Microsoft 365 services. Including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
- Configure and support Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 security capabilities across cloud and hybrid environments
- Experienced with Microsoft Exchange configuration and administration
- Demonstrate superior troubleshooting capabilities
- Use PowerShell for basic administration and troubleshooting tasks
- Mentor team members and serve as a technical escalation point for other departments
- Provide remote support for Field Service Technicians performing on-site installations
- Manage competing priorities across multiple active projects, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments, and complete assignments successfully
- Participate in project meetings to support planning, define implementation strategies, and communicate status updates
- Travel occasionally to regional customer sites to perform technology installations when assigned to the Omaha office
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of experience supporting server and endpoint operating systems
- 5 years of experience with technology infrastructure, including cloud solutions, servers, endpoints, and networking devices
- General hardware: servers, workstations, storage (SAN, NAS, etc.), networking (firewalls, switches, wireless)
- Cloud platforms and services, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and AWS
- Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions, preferably including Axcient, Datto, or Veeam
- Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Extensive knowledge related to network environments
- Administration of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and cloud services
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
- 5 years of experience with network topologies, core infrastructure, and protocol
- Current certifications in cloud, server, or networking
