IT Hardware Support Technician | Full-Time | Northern Virginia | Field-Based Role

About the Role
As an IT Hardware Support Technician, you’ll assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware systems across Fairfax Radiology Centers’ locations. You’ll work closely with the IT Hardware Manager and support clinical and administrative teams who rely on secure, high-performing technology.

Key Details
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Field-based role supporting multiple FRC locations
  • On call rotation required
  • Occasional after-hours support for data center alarms
  • Travel between sites required (reliable transportation needed)
  • Full access to systems containing Protected Health Information (PHI)

What You’ll Do
  • Install and configure new employee workstations, PACS technologist stations, radiologist reading stations, and servers
  • Build and configure PCs to meet specific system requirements
  • Repair, replace, and maintain IT hardware at existing locations
  • Install and repair network cabling as needed
  • Manage and maintain IT hardware inventory (monitors, keyboards, cables, toners, peripherals, etc.)
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for cabling and hardware projects and report progress to IT leadership
  • Answer IT support calls and assist staff, radiologists, and referring physicians with hardware-related issues
  • Escalate issues appropriately to IT Management
  • Travel to FRC sites and safely transport and secure IT equipment

What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ years of IT experience, including hardware support and inventory management
  • A+ Certification preferred or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and system functions
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and working under desks or in server rooms
  • High school diploma required
    • College or technical degree is a plus
