Job Description

The IT Functional Business Analyst is a strategic liaison between IT and business partners, driving project success through expert analysis, requirement documentation, and process improvement. This role requires 10+ years of experience, advanced troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with Microsoft 365, JIRA, Visio, and project management tools. You will be responsible for the deliver cost‑effective technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction and perform independently with minimal coaching.

Key Responsibilities

Analysis & Requirements

Analyze business processes and define efficient, cost‑effective solutions aligned to HFC functional business needs.

Assess scope and business impact using deep knowledge of application capabilities.

Elicit and document functional and business requirements as needed.

Facilitate and drive the development of systems requirements with your IT counterparts, per plan, in addition to creating use cases and process/data flows.

Solution Design & Improvement

Collaborate with HFC business analysts to identify improvement opportunities and plan system configuration or updates.

Design interface and data conversion requirements to enhance existing systems or develop new ones.

Evaluate third‑party applications against requirements and recommend fit‑for‑purpose options.

Risk, Testing & Delivery

Conduct and document risk and gap analyses for projects.

Lead the Requirements Analysis and Testing phases, including test planning and execution oversight.

Maintain issue logs; track and drive problem resolution with timely escalation when needed.

Change Enablement & Training

Coordinate software/technology implementations with end users; develop user documentation and deliver training, demos, and presentations.

Provide knowledge transfer and feedback to enable sustainable adoption.

Project & Stakeholder Management

Contribute to project plans (work plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths, tasks, and deliverables).

Provide status on milestones and alert project managers to potential risks and delays.

Communicate with business users to evaluate alternatives and align solutions; seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.

Support & Operations

Manage and resolve IT Help Desk issues and requests related to applications, coordinating with team members, vendors, and clients; escalate as appropriate.

Serve as a resource for understanding how IT systems support business functions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of relevant work experience, including technical troubleshooting and problem solving.

Tools & Methods

Experience with MS Project/Asana/Smartsheet, JIRA/Confluence, Visio, Microsoft 365

Knowledgeable in SDLC methodology and software testing.

Proficient in the use of MS Excel, SQL, and Business Intelligence tools

Skills

Ability to independently perform complex analysis of business processes, data, and technical solutions.

Possess solid business systems acumen in the areas of Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

Strong interpersonal, business communication, and writing skills; effective use of applications and PCs.

Customer‑focused with high quality standards; strong analytical thinking and decision‑making.
