Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge in IT support? Do you want to work with a wide range of technologies and have the opportunity to learn and grow? Do you enjoy working in different environments and meeting new people? Do you want to make a positive impact on education and society?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in joining our team of IT Field Engineers supporting schools across the country. We are looking for motivated professionals who can provide high-quality technical support and solutions to our customers.

As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting various technologies such as ChromeOS, Windows and Windows Server, Mac, iOS, Office 365/Google Workspace, MDM (Intune and Mosyle), Networking (Switching, Wireless, Firewalls and Content Filtering), Infrastructure services (AD, DNS, DHCP), Hardware Troubleshooting, Backups (On-Site and Cloud), Storage (NAS/SAN) and more. Expand your horizons beyond your current domain - you are given access to work on all these technologies.
  • Working closely with school staff and teachers to understand their needs and expectations, and provide them with the best possible service and advice.
  • Exploring and implementing new technologies that can enhance the learning experience and outcomes for students. You will have the chance to work with some innovative and fun tools that you might not encounter in a corporate setting, such as VR, 3d printing or e-Sports gaming setups.
  • Travelling to different school locations and working in a field-based role. You will not be stuck behind a desk all day, but rather enjoy the variety and flexibility of working in different settings and interacting with different people.
  • Contributing to a rewarding and meaningful mission of supporting education and improving the lives of students, especially in lower socioeconomic areas.
  • Friendlier working hours. The nature of schools means you can undertake maintenance and projects after school and during school holidays. Say goodbye to regular late nights patching when everyone’s asleep.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification or certification in IT or a related discipline.
  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritise a busy workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for learning and problem-solving.
  • A professional and positive attitude.
  • And the formalities; a clean criminal record, the legal right to work in New Zealand and a valid driver's license plus roadworthy vehicle.
