About the Role

The IT Expense Management consultant is responsible to help manage and optimize IT-related expenditures, ensure cost efficiency, budget adherence and financial planning. This role supports the IT department by aligning technology investments with business goals, maintaining cost accuracy, engaging senior stakeholders and ensuring financial compliance. The role also requires expertise in general ledger accounting, knowledge in procure-to-pay systems like SAP ARIBA and SAP Concur, and financial planning and analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Sourcing teams to forecast IT expenses and track actual spending against budget at the detailed transaction level via the approval of budget notations and purchase orders in SAP ARIBA and Travel and entertainment expenses in SAP Concur
  • Consolidate the detailed annual budgeting of IT BAU expenses and liaise with the different IT Stakeholders for confirmation and interlock
  • Prepare clear and concise monthly financial presentations with key insights on IT expenditure trends to senior stakeholders in IT including the Regional CTO and CFO.
  • Identify key budget variances and propose corrective actions when necessary. Ensure IT-related costs are properly categorized and assigned to the correct pillars within IT
  • Implement financial controls to prevent overspending and ensure cost transparency. Ensure compliance with financial policies, IT governance and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal audit teams to ensure financial controls are in place for IT expenses
  • Validate monthly intercompany charges with stakeholders and ensure the proper booking of the charges
  • Maintain and manage IT cost centers, regularly reviewing and reconciling cost center data to prevent errors and misallocations
  • Work with the Local Technology Operations and Regional Cloud Finops teams to optimize cloud and on-premises server spend and achieve the yearly optimization targets
  • Help lead various adhoc strategic projects from senior management in driving cost efficiencies
  • Partner with IT Vendor Management and Sourcing teams in preparing accurate and timely reports related to vendor and purchase orders.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, preferably in Information Technology
  • Extensive understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting and financial modeling
  • Experience in procure to pay systems like SAP ARIBA and SAP Concur
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookup)
  • Experience in PowerBI a plus
