A Day in the Life

The Global Pricing and Contracting IT team at Medtronic partners with commercial groups to develop AI and analytics-driven systems that improve pricing and contracting strategies. These tools generate insights to help maximize revenue, expand market share, and support global go-to-market efforts. The role offers strong exposure to Medtronic’s products, data, and commercial operations, along with opportunities for career growth in a diverse and inclusive environment focused on advancing healthcare.

The IT Developer designs, builds, and supports internal CPQ/CLM applications that enable U.S. P&C functionality. The role involves analyzing system requirements, developing and testing code, maintaining existing applications, implementing improvements, troubleshooting issues, and supporting upgrades and integrations.
The position works closely with business stakeholders, acting as a bridge between Pricing and Contracting and IT to ensure technology and data support business decisions. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, documenting solutions, supporting implementation and training, ensuring regulatory and data privacy compliance, and collaborating with agile development teams to deliver technology solutions that drive business and patient value.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Application Development and Support
    • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software applications supporting internal business functions.
    • Analyze existing systems and implement new applications or enhancements.
    • Write, test, debug code, and maintain system and programming documentation.
    • Develop integrations or specialized programs and support maintenance, upgrades, and issue resolution.
  • Systems Analysis and Implementation
    • Analyze system capabilities, data inputs, outputs, and processing requirements.
    • Develop implementation and system conversion plans and create operating documentation.
    • Recommend improvements to development standards and system processes.
  • Business Collaboration
    • Work with business teams to gather and document requirements.
    • Translate technical solutions for business users and provide user support and training.
  • Project Delivery and Team Collaboration
    • Participate in or lead projects from design through implementation.
    • Collaborate across IT and business teams.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes and system efficiency.
    • Monitor integrations and data synchronization.
    • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, privacy, and IT standards.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Overall 3 to 7 years of IT experience with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
  • Experience with Conga CPQ/CLM or other leading industry software.
  • Familiarity with ERP/CRM platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) and commercial systems.
  • Experience working with Agile environments with CI/CD and version control (GIT).
  • Experience developing APIs and integrating enterprise systems.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of system landscape, design and architecture.
  • Experience with implementing technologies that span automation, Pricing, Quoting and Contracting.
  • Experience with management of project implementations.
  • Strong process documentation skills.
    NICE TO HAVE:
  • Understanding of excel and how to extract/analyze data.
  • Experience working in agile methodology.
  • Experience defining new processes and improving existing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit clear requirements; translate those requirements into robust support models; and deliver accurate, reliable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical topics to business management and users.
  • Self-motivated problem solver.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, quickly assessing opportunities and defining solutions.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with business users, technical staff, and executive management.
  • Excellent communication skills matching appropriate content to different audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities fluidly and without compromising stakeholder collaboration.
