Job Description

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services. The employee will have a strong background in cloud platforms, system architecture, and an ability to work collaboratively across various teams.

  • Design and Implementation : Develop and deploy scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Cloud Management: Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines and policies, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity and implement appropriate solutions to address any issues.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) in cloud environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and processes.
  • Technology Watch: Keeping track of technology trends to improve our Cloud designs and deployment.

Essential qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software engineering

  • 0-1 years of knowledge in S/W Engineering, Scripting & Systems / Infrastructure

Key competencies

  • Experienced in Cloud Technology Stacks

  • Operating System: Windows Server 2016+ or a recent Linux Distribution

  • Cloud Technology concepts – IaaS, PaaS etc.

  • Database Concepts

  • IaC – Terraform and Salt etc.

  • A strong proficiency in at least one of the following Python, YAML, Windows, Linux, Json & PowerShell, bash

Nice to Have Skills

  • Understanding of CI/CD tools preferably Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins or others.

  • Understanding of an iterative Agile methodology

Other skills and abilities

  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.

  • Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.

  • Fosters and maintains excellent internal, client and third-party relationships.

  • Possesses a high degree of initiative.

  • Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies; keeps abreast of key developments in relevant technologies.

  • Able to work under pressure.

  • Practices effective listening techniques

  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Effectively analyzes and solves problems with attention to the root cause.

  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams

  • Azure Fundamentals, Azure Developer or GCP Developer Certifications will be a plus.
