Job Description

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to the CIO organization. The BRM serves as a strategic liaison between Information Technology and business units, ensuring alignment of IT services, initiatives, and investments with organizational goals. This role focuses on building strong partnerships, understanding business needs, and translating them into technology-enabled solutions that deliver measurable value. The BRM leverages key metrics and performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and ensure IT effectively supports evolving business needs.

Business Partnership & Engagement

  • Act as the primary IT point of contact for assigned business units
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, priorities, and challenges
  • Proactively identify opportunities where IT can enable or enhance business outcomes

Demand & Portfolio Management

  • Capture, evaluate, and prioritize business demand for IT services and projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business cases and value propositions
  • Align demand with IT strategy, capacity, and funding constraints
  • Support portfolio planning and roadmap development

Strategic Alignment

  • Ensure IT initiatives are aligned with enterprise goals and business strategies
  • Communicate IT strategy, capabilities, and roadmap to business stakeholders
  • Advocate for business needs within IT and ensure transparency on priorities

Performance Management & Metrics

  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure IT effectiveness and business value delivery
  • Use data-driven insights to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with stakeholders to align KPIs with business objectives and desired outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on performance results

Service & Performance Management

  • Monitor and communicate the performance of IT services to business partners
  • Ensure service levels meet agreed expectations and drive continuous improvement
  • Facilitate issue resolution and escalation as needed

Governance & Communication

  • Participate in governance forums, steering committees, and planning sessions
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication between IT and business units
  • Support financial transparency, including budgeting and cost management discussions

Workforce & Capability Planning

  • Assess resource needs based on business demand, project pipeline, and strategic priorities
  • Partner with IT leadership to ensure adequate staffing levels and appropriate skill sets
  • Provide input into workforce planning, capacity management, and vendor support strategies

ERP & Center of Excellence (CoE) Enablement

  • Support the development and implementation of ERP Center of Excellence (CoE) strategies
  • Promote standardization, best practices, and governance across ERP-related initiatives
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to drive consistency and efficiency in ERP processes
  • Help ensure ERP investments deliver sustained business value

Change Enablement

  • Support organizational change management related to IT initiatives
  • Help drive adoption of new systems, tools, and processes
  • Ensure business readiness for technology changes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
    7+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, or relationship management
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting ERP systems and enterprise applications preferred
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) preferred
