Job Description

About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations and more people. Dyson launched in the US in 2002, and since then operations have grown exponentially. Our US headquarters is based in Chicago's Fulton Market neighborhood. We also have employees working in field sales, our service centers, and in our growing number of Dyson Demo Store’s across the country.

We're committed to our campus culture and want to have people collaborating, developing, and learning from each other. By having everyone on campus together, we have been able to nurture a fantastic social and dynamic environment.

About the role

The IT Business Partner (ITBP) serves as a trusted technology advisor and liaison between IT and business units. This role blends business relationship management, project management, and business analysis to ensure technology investments deliver measurable value, align with organizational goals, and drive operational excellence.

The ITBP identifies opportunities, shapes demand, translates needs into executable plans and coordinates cross‑functional delivery teams through successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities :

Business Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with regional business stakeholders to understand strategic goals, operational needs, and priorities.

  • Facilitate alignment between business objectives and IT strategies and roadmaps.

  • Identify pain points and propose solutions that improve performance, reduce risk, or enhance customer/employee experience, whether through full-scale projects, targeted platform enhancements, or the use of AI.

  • Ensure business stakeholders understand IT capabilities, constraints, and investment criteria; manage expectations across both sides.

  • Facilitate decision‑making by preparing clear, concise recommendations, options, and tradeoffs.

  • Help shape and prioritize IT demand; maintain a view of multi‑year capabilities, dependencies, and value drivers.

  • Validate that proposed IT demand is financially sound by assessing feasibility, confirming robust cost‑benefit analysis, and ensuring prioritization reflects expected return on investment.

  • Promote and champion digital capabilities by advancing automation, AI adoption and data‑driven decision‑making.

Business Analysis

  • Elicit, analyze, and document requirements using interviews, workshops, and stakeholder engagement, producing business requirements documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Model current and future‑state business processes to identify gaps, clarify business needs and support solution design.

  • Translate business needs into functional and non‑functional requirements, ensuring clarity for technical and delivery teams.

  • Manage requirements throughout the lifecycle, maintaining traceability, refining scope, and coordinating with product owners, SMEs, and delivery teams.

  • Support implementation activities, including test planning, validation, and stakeholder communication to ensure solutions meet defined requirements.

  • Partner with Global PMO and operations teams to ensure that recommended solutions are viable and aligned with Company standards.

Project Management

  • Define and manage project scope, plans, milestones, budget, RAID, and success criteria through creation and ownership of project charters and integrated delivery plans.

  • Drive end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

  • Lead risk, issue, and change control processes, ensuring timely escalation, decision‑making, and contingency planning.

  • Coordinate and align cross‑functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders, establishing effective governance cadences (steering, delivery, and working sessions).

  • Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders to ensure alignment and visibility throughout the project and platform enhancement lifecycles.

  • Validate that requirements are met during development, testing, and UAT; ensure readiness for deployment and operational transition.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 7-10 years of proven experience in IT business partnering, BRM, business analysis, project management, product ownership, or similar hybrid IT–business liaison roles. Supporting digital transformation, ERP/CRM ecosystems and the adoption or integration of AI‑driven solutions.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC/Agile delivery practices, process modeling, and enterprise applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into clear business language and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams (IT, business, vendors) through full lifecycle initiatives.

  • Familiarity with financial management of IT investments (budgeting, cost modeling, benefit realization).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as BRMP, PMP, CSM, CBAP/CCBA, or equivalent.

  • Background working in complex, matrixed, or global organizations.

  • Familiarity with governance & compliance.

  • Exposure to vendor management, contract/SOW oversight, and SLA governance.

Core Competencies

Since inventing the first cyclonic bagless vacuum cleaner, the DC01, Dyson has consistently invested in research and development to improve its products and technologies radically. Dyson offers products across a growing range of areas: floorcare, air purification, robotics, haircare including formulations, lighting, hand drying, and most recently audio. Dyson continues to expand into new areas.

Today, Dyson sells products in more than 80 markets, has 450 Dyson stores worldwide and is available in all major technology and beauty retailers. Beyond products, to encourage an inventive future, Dyson is also inspiring the next generation of engineers and inventors through the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, the James Dyson Foundation and the James Dyson Award.

The Dyson family applies its problem-solving approach in other fields, and established Dyson Farming in 2012.
