IT Business Analyst – Operational Risk & GenAI

What is in it for you:

• Incorporated Business Rate: $45 per hour.
• 6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
• Hybrid: 3 days/week in Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and document business processes related to operational risk, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, define, and document business and functional requirements for Risk IT initiatives.
• Develop business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications to support system enhancements and risk reporting.
• Apply relational data concepts to support source-to-target data mapping and document data flows for enterprise data lake ingestion and reporting solutions.
• Partner with Agile teams to support the delivery of risk-related solutions while ensuring alignment with business requirements and timelines.
• Conduct gap analysis and exploratory data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and support solution design.
• Work with stakeholders across business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
• Gather requirements from business units and communicate them to technical teams.
• Support complex business processes and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
• Certifications in Agile methodologies, business analysis, or risk management are considered an asset.
• 2-4 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a related role.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear documentation, including BRDs, process flows, and data mappings.
• Solid understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, including experience using Jira and working within Scrum teams.
• Strong SQL proficiency and data analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data lake architectures and cloud-based data platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure data platforms and services, including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
• Experience with RSA Archer or similar GRC platforms.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to operational risk, including Basel and OSFI guidelines.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages sufficient to understand code and system functionality.
• Ability to create business solutions that support organizational objectives.
• Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Ability to solve technical problems, understand complex processes, and research solutions using multiple information sources.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt and learn in a dynamic environment.
