THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED AN HOURLY RATE OF $26.73.

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.

The New York City (NYC) Administration for Children’s Services’ (ACS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for providing high quality, reliable, and sustainable technology services, and support to meet the needs of the families and children we serve through ACS, its vendor partners and other City agencies. The Center for Technology Ideation and Management (CFTIM) unit devises the IT strategy and roadmap, bringing to fruition transformative and innovative technology solutions that are aligned with the Agency's missions. This is accomplished through four key areas Relationship Management, Technology Ideation, Enterprise Architecture and Project Management.

OIT is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Business Analyst Graduate Intern to join our Center for Technology Ideation and Management. An an IT Business Analyst Graduate Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside the Center for Technology Ideation and Management team to continually develop the agency's IT strategy and roadmap. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to learn how to implement transformative and innovative technology solutions that align with the Agency's mission through relationship management, technology ideation, enterprise architecture and project manager. Additionally, as a member of the 2026, ACS Summer Internship Program cohort, you will participate in an enrichment program designed to fully engage students into the ACS and NYC government experience. Internship programming includes professional development workshops, lunch and learns, speaker events, NYC government tours, and networking opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering and Translation:

- Assist with translating user journeys and personal into detailed user stories.

- Collaborate with team to define acceptance criteria and create functional wireframes for web and or mobile experiences.

Documentation and Procurement:

- Assist with drafting and maintaining technical materials related to project scopes.

- Assist with ensuring traceability of technical requirements to user needs and regulations.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

- Develop User Acceptance Testing scripts based on real-world scenarios and document system defects with a focus on user experience.

Learning Outcomes:

- Gain comprehensive understanding of the IT landscape and requirements of a large organization.

- Develop an understanding of requirements for IT governance and processes.

- Enhance abilities in coordinating and executing organizational tasks in a professional setting.
