The IT audit team in Audit Markets and Central Functions Department is responsible for performing IT Audits in IT departments in direct responsibility of the Erste Group Bank AG (Erste Digital, Group Organization, foreign branches, functional subsidiaries). A number of Austrian Savings Banks part of Erste Group outsourced the internal audit resposibilities to Group audit. Another key responsibility is the coordination of IT Audit activities within Erste Group (governance of CEE group entities).

Your Tasks

  • Perform IT audits across Erste Group entities and subsidiaries, assessing processes, controls, and risk management practices
  • Review areas such as IT Strategy, Governance, Outsourcing Governance, IT Project and Change Management, and support continuous improvement
  • Evaluate IT Operations, Incident Management, Information Security, IT Architecture, and Network controls to identify risks and opportunities
  • Develop and tailor audit programmes, test controls, and document audit evidence in line with recognised standards and best practices
  • Prepare audit reports, communicate findings, and follow up on recommendations to support effective implementation
  • Collaborate with fellow IT auditors and business auditors on joint audits covering IT delivery processes, outsourced services, and cross-functional risks

Your Background

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, IT Audit, IT Risk Management or a related control environment and an educational background in a Computer Science area
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following areas: IT Audit, IT Governance, IT Service Management, SDLC, IT Operations, Cybersecurity
  • You have practical experience assessing IT processes and controls, identifying risks, and evaluating the effectiveness of governance and control frameworks
  • Knowledge of recognised standards and frameworks such as DORA, COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL or similar control environments is part of your professional toolkit. CISA and other relevant audit certifications are considered an advantage
  • You enjoy collaborating with auditors across the Group and participating in joint business and IT audits; knowledge of banking processes and experience in advanced data analytics are considered advantages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and ideally in German) enable you to present audit results and recommendations clearly

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 51,336.04 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
