How you’ll make a difference:
This role holds primary accountability for ensuring WCB maintains full legal compliance in its use of all software assets. Beyond compliance, this role is foundational in creating transparent, data‑driven visibility into the true cost of the company’s software estate, enabling executive leaders to make informed and strategically aligned technology investment decisions.
As part of the IT Asset Management function within Business Technology Services, the position upholds established processes, maintains accurate asset records, and supports adherence to all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for major Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives, including audits, true‑ups, renewals, and remediation projects.
Facilitate and support the development or refinement of Asset Management & Compliance processes.
Lead Software Asset Management‑related components of enterprise initiatives or projects as the subject matter expert.
Research emerging software concepts and share the insights to inform policy, process, and technology decisions.
• Provide regular dashboard reports and executive summaries on software asset status, compliance risks, and value optimization to IT leadership.
Compile, prioritize, schedule, and execute annual software reconciliations and renewals for complex software products, ensuring WCB complies with all usage, deployments rights and contractual obligations.

Salary: $83,185.00 to $97,826.00 per annum (Salary Grade 11)
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of remote work and on-site presence at our Edmonton or Calgary location. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
