The IT Applications Specialist – Franchise Operations sits at the intersection of technology and operations, supporting the systems that enable our franchise network to serve customers safely, efficiently, and consistently. From labeling systems that allow products to reach shelves to digital food safety platforms that protect our standards, this role helps sustain the operational foundation of our business while identifying opportunities to improve how we work.
Success in this position requires more than technical expertise. We are looking for someone with an insatiable curiosity to understand how our business truly operates, a bias toward action, and a desire to continuously learn and evolve alongside our technology landscape. There is no complete playbook for this role. The right person will seek context, ask thoughtful questions, connect the dots across functions, and take ownership of building what comes next.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Application Support & Operations
· Provide day-to-day support for retail food sales and franchise applications, including POS, loyalty, labeling, and back-office
systems.
· Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across store environments.
· Act as a liaison between franchisees, operations teams, and vendors for issue resolution.
· Support onboarding of new franchise locations from a systems and application perspective.
· Maintain documentation of application configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
Labeling & Nutritional Systems
· Support labeling systems such as BOHA.
· Assist with label printing configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment.
· Maintain awareness of food labeling compliance requirements.
· Support nutritional systems such as Genesis or similar platforms.
· Ensure accuracy of product, ingredient, and nutritional data across systems.
Device & Application Lifecycle Support
· Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of application-related devices and configurations.
· Support deployment person or team with readiness of devices tied to applications (POS terminals, tablets, printers).
· Assist with lifecycle management.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
· Identify opportunities to improve application workflows and reduce manual processes.
· Participate in evaluation and rollout of new technologies and systems.
· Maintain a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation to evolving technologies.
· Support testing and validation of system enhancements and integrations.
POS & Payment Systems
· Support and maintain retail POS platforms such as Stripe, Revel, or Toast.
· Assist with configuration, updates, and troubleshooting of POS systems.
· Support integrations between POS, payment processing, and back-office systems.
· Ensure accuracy and reliability of transaction flows and reporting.
Loyalty & Customer Engagement Platforms
· Support loyalty and customer engagement applications.
· Assist with configuration, promotions, and campaign setup.
Security & Compliance
· Follow company policies related to technology usage, security, and asset management.
· Maintain a general understanding of IT security principles and NIST-based controls.
· Support secure handling of application data, including financial and customer data.
· Assist with access management and basic audit controls within applications.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
· College Degree or 4 year technical degree.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in IT applications support or a related role.
· General understanding of labeling systems (e.g., BoHA).
· General understanding of nutritional systems (e.g., Genesis).
· Familiarity with retail food sales POS systems (e.g., Stripe, Revel, Toast).
· General understanding of loyalty platforms, or willingness to learn.
· Basic understanding of IT security concepts and frameworks (e.g., NIST).
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
· Ability to follow structured processes and workflows.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Reliable, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
Preferred
· Experience in the retail food sales, franchise, or general retail industry.
· Experience with application integrations (POS ? ERP ? loyalty).
· Familiarity with Salesforce or CRM systems.
· Experience supporting multi-location environments.
· Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP.
· Experience working with vendors and third-party application providers.
