Job Description

Provides comprehensive application functionality, configuration and support expertise for application software solutions; works with business analysts, architects, technical experts and software vendors on the solution requirements, design, configuration, functionality gap resolution, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyzes and evaluates application functionality and provides recommendations to increase utilization of standard application functionality to improve business processes and capabilities Determines and documents optimum application setup and configuration to meet functional requirements and specifications; configures and verifies application setup and configuration Develops expertise in emerging application and solution trends and functionality; provides functional recommendations for assigned applications and systems. Conducts analysis of potential application solutions, identifies and recommends solutions to address functionality gaps in the application. Develops and maintains strong relationships with relevant vendors; works with vendors to improve application functionality and resolve functionality issues Partners with process owners, business analysts, systems analysts and architects to gather, document and review functional, architecture and technical requirements and define application functional designs. Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact on content, processes, procedures and functionality associated with assigned applications for projects and application support (as needed). Creates and manages functional specifications for a given project from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the program, application, or complete solution

Solution Validation Testing - Validates a configuration item change or solution using the Function's defined best practices, including the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards, tools and metrics, to ensure that it works as designed and meets customer requirements.

Provide end-to-end functional expertise for Oracle E-Business Suite (R12), with a primary focus on Oracle Financials. Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to design, configure, implement, and support enterprise applications. Drive optimal utilization of standard Oracle functionality while addressing gaps through well-defined solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business processes and evaluate Oracle R12 application capabilities, recommending enhancements to maximize utilization of standard functionalities and improve process efficiency.
  • Define and document optimal application configurations aligned to functional requirements, and ensure accurate system setup through validation and testing.
  • Lead functional design activities, including preparation of BRDs, FDDs, and solution design documents.
  • Identify functional gaps in Oracle Financials and recommend appropriate solutions, including configuration, customization, or workarounds.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Oracle Financial modules, supporting both projects and ongoing application support.
  • Collaborate closely with business users, process owners, and IT teams to gather and refine requirements and translate them into system-driven solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end implementation lifecycle activities including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, SIT, UAT, deployment, and hypercare support.
  • Work with Oracle and third-party vendors to resolve application issues and enhance system capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (especially India localization).
  • Support cross-functional integrations with Procurement, Inventory, and Order Management modules.
  • Mentor junior functional analysts and drive knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging Oracle capabilities (including Cloud Financials) and recommend adoption where relevant.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
  • CA/CMA is good to have
  • Oracle Financials certifications .
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements as applicable.

Experience

7-8 years of relevant experience required.

  • Oracle Financials functional consulting experience in Oracle EBS R12 environment.
  • Deep expertise in core Finance modules:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Fixed Assets (FA)
    • Cash Management (CM)
    • Oracle Financials for India Localization (GST, TDS, statutory compliance)
    • E-Business Tax (EBTax)
  • Strong experience in India statutory compliance and taxation requirements.
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end ERP implementations, upgrades, and rollouts.
  • Expertise in business process mapping, solution design, and functional architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in requirements gathering, functional documentation, UAT coordination, and change management.
  • Strong exposure to cross-functional integrations (Procurement, Inventory, Order Management).
  • Experience mentoring and leading functional team members.
  • Experience working in manufacturing industry or a manufacturing client is an added advantage.
