6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Location:Shirley Office 2 days a week (with occasional travel)

The role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Application Analyst to join our Application Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong application support experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving services, and working across both cloud andon-premiseenvironments.

In this role, you will provide 2nd and 3rd Line Application Support, manage incidents through to resolution, and work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure the stability and performance of business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for the Application Services Team

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd Line support for supported business applications

  • Own and manage escalated incidents through to successful resolution

  • Conduct incident investigations and coordinate resolutions for customers

  • Liaise with and manage third-party vendors during Incident, Change, and Request activities

  • Configure,develop,test,maintain, and support application services

  • Administer user access and fulfil service requests in line with security policies and procedures

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve application stability

  • Proactivelymonitorcore application services and initiate incident management processes whererequired

  • Identifyand recommend improvements to application services across the business

  • Carry out regular maintenance activities including software updates, backups, and patching

  • Support project delivery activities on behalf of the Applications Team

  • Create andmaintaintechnical and operational documentation

  • Conduct application testing and peer reviews of improvements across the application estate

Skills and Experience

Essential Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience in IT Operational Support (1st or 2nd Line) with a strong focus on applications

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting business applications

  • Experience working within ITIL frameworks

  • Service Operations experience working to SLAs and KPIs

  • Knowledge of Incident, Request, and Change Management processes

  • Experience in application configuration and maintenance

  • Experience supporting SaaS applications such as Microsoft Azure or supporting/configuring off-the-shelf applications

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across bothon-premiseand cloud-based applications

  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

  • Understanding of Incident Management processes

  • Awareness of development and software delivery processes

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience coordinating incidents with third-party suppliers on behalf of customers

  • Strong analytical and application problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both remotely and on-site while managing workload independently

  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to investigate unfamiliar issues and see problems through to resolution

Desirable

  • ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 Certification
