Your tasks:

In your role, you will manage and support the company's application portfolio, ensuring stable operation, optimal performance, and high availability of business-critical services. You will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications running primarily in Linux-based environments. Working closely with internal IT teams, infrastructure providers, software vendors, and business stakeholders, you will identify and resolve application-related issues and drive continuous service improvements. As part of our hybrid IT landscape, you will contribute to both on-premises and cloud-hosted services. While the initial focus of the role is on Linux-based application operations, you will have the opportunity to expand your expertise in cloud technologies and support our ongoing cloud transformation journey.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting business-critical applications throughout their lifecycle
  • Performing application deployments, upgrades, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting
  • Monitoring application health, performance, and availability
  • Coordinating incident resolution and driving root cause analysis
  • Collaborating with vendors and infrastructure teams to ensure stable operations
  • Automating operational processes where appropriate
  • Contributing to operational documentation and knowledge sharing
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational processes
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in application management and cloud technologies

Your skills:

  • Completed Bachelor's degree or apprenticeship in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a comparable field
  • Professional experience in Application Management, Application Support, System Administration, IT Operations, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Linux-based operating environments
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting business-critical applications
  • Good understanding of application deployment, maintenance, and operational processes
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis tools
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Very good communication skills (spoken and written) in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (preferred), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience in financial services, trading environments, or other business-critical IT environments
  • German language skills
