The primary focus is on requirements discovery, workflow analysis, API/data contract definition, and cross‑functional collaboration with SMEs and engineering teams.

In addition, the ideal candidate brings hands‑on functional and manual testing capability, especially around workflows and API validation. This ensures strong requirement clarity, reduces rework, and supports high‑quality delivery in a fast‑moving environment.

This role is best suited for someone who has worked in pharmacy/healthcare domains and is comfortable operating as an analyst who can also validate functionality end‑to‑end

Key Responsibilities Business Analysis (Primary Focus)

  • Lead functional discovery across healthcare workflows including patient intake, eligibility/coverage, prior authorization, approvals, and related integrations.
  • Develop epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data flows, and integration specifications.
  • Define and review API requirements, including request/response schemas, payload rules, field‑level validations, and integration behavior (REST/gRPC).
  • Collaborate with SMEs, architects, product managers, and engineering leads to clarify dependencies and refine the backlog.
  • Document platform capabilities including tenant setup, partner onboarding workflows, settings, and configuration logic
  • Support alignment across legacy system processes and new microservices-based architecture.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering pods, QA teams, DevOps, and SME groups for clear requirement interpretation.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, story grooming, feature walkthroughs, and technical design discussions.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies early and ensure all teams have the required clarity.
  • Coordinate with both onshore and offshore delivery teams.

Manual QA & Validation Skills

  • Perform manual functional validation of workflows against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Execute API-level validations using tools like Postman/Insomnia (payloads, schema checks, error paths).
  • Review test cases from QA teams and provide domain/business logic guidance.
  • Validate integration flows across internal and external systems.
  • Support UAT readiness, data validation, and feature-level release checks.
  • Understand workflow edge cases, negative scenarios, and compliance constraints.

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience as a BA/IT Analyst in healthcare, pharmacy, payer, or provider environments.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare/pharmacy workflows: eligibility, benefits, authorizations, intake, and partner integrations.
  • Experience writing clear, testable user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation for API-driven systems.
  • Hands‑on exposure to API validation, JSON payload review, schema interpretation, and data mapping.
  • Experience working with engineering teams building microservices, distributed systems, or cloud platforms
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across onshore and offshore teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working with CVS Health or Walgreens, or similar healthcare/pharmacy ecosystems.
  • Exposure to GCP components (BigQuery, Spanner, Pub/Sub) or equivalent cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with PHI/PII compliance, HIPAA-driven processes, and regulated enterprise delivery.

Location

  • Texas / Chicago / NY - Photon Office
