Job Description

ispace, inc. is looking for IT Analyst – Engineering Applications to join our growing internal IT team.

IT Analyst will be responsible for managing, supporting, and continuously improving business-critical engineering, manufacturing, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems used across the organization.

The role supports the complete lifecycle of various engineering and manufacturing applications at a global level, including CAD, PLM/PDM, ERP, MES, MRP, engineering simulations, requirements management, and project engineering platforms. The analyst serves as the primary liaison between IT and Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Operations, ensuring applications effectively support product development, procurement, production planning, inventory management, and mission execution.

The role will focus on integrating and optimizing our ERP system, MES system, and the various engineering platforms to create a seamless end-to-end digital platform from design through manufacturing and operations.

Key Responsibilities

    Engineering, ERP & MES Application Ownership

  • Serve as the primary IT contact for assigned engineering and manufacturing applications.
  • Support and administer engineering systems including CAD, PLM, PDM, simulation, and requirements management platforms.
  • Support and administer ERP, MES, manufacturing and production planning solutions, and supply chain/procurement applications.
  • Manage application lifecycles, including configurations, enhancements, upgrades, vendor coordination, and release planning.
  • Ensure availability, performance, backup, recovery, and supportability of the applications in the assigned scope.
  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain Process Support

  • In addition to system design, collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams for business processes improvement
  • As a tool & application owner support the implementation of BOM management, material planning, production planning, work orders, inventory management, procurement workflows, supplier management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • System Integration

  • Design and support integrations between engineering applications, PLM/PDM platforms, ERP, MES, Jira/Confluence, Microsoft 365, AWS-hosted applications, and analytics/reporting platforms.
  • Ensure data consistency across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, inventory, and financial systems.
  • Support API, ETL, middleware, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Business Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Gather and document business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional designs and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to align business needs, priorities, and solution options.
  • Map current-state and future-state business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate functional testing, user acceptance testing, and issue resolution for application changes.
  • Develop recommendations for digital transformation initiatives.

Required skills

    ERP / MES Platforms (Mandatory)

  • Experience using Manufacturing Execution System and Enterprise Resource Planning modules (including relationship and integration with purchase and financial modules)
  • Cross functional collaboration/stakeholder management (eg: Supply chain, inventory, production planning, procurement, purchasing, and warehouse management)
  • Sufficient English and Japanese for internal collaboration (Japanese level - native or fluent, English Business)
  • Process Knowledge (Mandatory)

    Strong understanding of the following areas:

  • Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO), PLM, configuration management, and BOM structures
  • Procurement processes, inventory control, manufacturing operations, and production scheduling
  • Requirements gathering, stakeholder management, functional design, testing, and business process mapping
  • Quality management processes and ITIL service management

Preferred skills

    Engineering Applications (Nice to Have)

  • ERP and MES platform implementation experience
  • CAD systems like SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, and Autodesk products
  • Experience as a user of PLM/PDM platforms
  • Requirements management systems
  • Project management systems
  • Business level English and Japanese
  • Enterprise & Integration Technologies (Nice to Have)

  • Jira / Confluence and Microsoft 365
  • AWS and/or Azure cloud services
  • Experience with SSO integrations
  • Experience with SAML and OpenID
  • Experience with identity provisioning using SCIM and APIs
