Talent Responsibilities

The IT Administrator role supports and administers Microsoft 365 services and core IT infrastructure for HUBER+SUHNER US Astrolab, ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of business systems, collaboration tools, communication platforms, and related technologies. The role is responsible for maintaining system performance, availability, security, and integrations with other business applications while providing responsive day-to-day technical support across the organization.

This
position partners cross functionally with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization to support operational needs, troubleshoot issues with urgency, and deliver effective technology solutions that enable business continuity and productivity. The role also plays a key part in supporting and executing IT-related projects, infrastructure improvements, system implementations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments and functions. In addition, the position contributes to hardware and software procurement activities, maintains the corporate intranet and user access management, supports IT compliance requirements, and provides end-user training and guidance aligned with corporate standards and business objectives.

User Support & Service Operations

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support to business key users and end users for Microsoft 365 (O365) services
  • Implement and fulfill service requests and change requests related to Microsoft 365, with a focus on Azure Active Directory and Exchange Online
  • Proactively inform users of system issues, application notifications, and planned maintenance windows
  • Onboard new employees by provisioning hardware, enabling system access in coordination with managers, and providing initial troubleshooting and user education
  • Support office automation systems including copiers, visitor management systems (Envoy), and internet connectivity to ensure optimal productivity and uptime

Infrastructure & System Monitoring
  • Perform daily network and system status checks, troubleshooting issues to maximize system and employee uptime
  • Support and maintain endpoint hardware and peripherals, ensuring reliable operation of workplace technology
  • Improve and standardize installation, deployment, and handover processes in collaboration with U.S. and European IT colleagues

Vendor, Partner, and Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate, track, and communicate technical issues with external service providers, vendors, and system suppliers
  • Collaborate closely with other IT teams (Network, Security, Corporate IT, and System Engineering) to resolve system‑technical issues
  • Act as the technical IT contact for office and manufacturing equipment purchases, assessing connectivity and system integration requirements

Audit, Compliance & Governance
  • Support IT audits and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Work with Corporate IT to support GCC compliance and other security or regulatory frameworks
  • Define, maintain, and execute backup, change management, problem management, and recovery procedures, ensuring alignment with data protection regulations

Systems Development, Integration & Optimization
  • Capture business needs and expectations related to hardware and software; develop solution proposals and decision documentation
  • Evaluate hardware platforms, operating systems, standard and universal application software
  • Install, configure, customize, integrate, test, and release new hardware and software solutions
  • Assess the impact of new ICT components on existing systems and provide recommendations aligned with overall system architecture
  • Develop and implement performance tuning, optimization, reliability, and security concepts across hardware, software, and communication components
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including execution of recovery and restart procedures during exceptional situations
Documentation, Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date system documentation, guidelines, and user manuals, coordinating with Headquarters and global IT teams
  • Develop and maintain procedures, escalation paths, workflows, and recovery concepts for exceptional or outage scenarios
  • Promote continuous improvement in IT operations, system stability, and knowledge transfer
Leadership & General Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate company leadership principles and values in all aspects of work and collaboration
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in support of IT and business objectives

Talent Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience.
  • Relevant Microsoft, networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration certifications are considered a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in system administration of Microsoft 365 services
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory (configuration, administration, and integration)
  • Hands-on experience with Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams (mandatory)
  • Experience with Microsoft Security & Compliance Center is an advantage
  • Familiarity with change management processes and tools (ITIL / DevOps) is an asset
  • Experience providing hardware support (PCs, printers, peripheral devices) is a plus

Skills/Knowledge:
  • Intermediate understanding of Windows Server environments
  • Basic knowledge of network configuration and concepts
  • Intermediate proficiency with Windows 10 / Windows 11 operating systems
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell and Microsoft Graph is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of complex systems, processes, and interdependencies
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills

  • Hybrid (4 days on-site / 1 day remote); high visibility role with regular cross-level interaction
  • Ability to adapt effectively in a changing environment
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to manage users and peers with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Self‑motivated individual capable of performing in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with structured thinking and sound conceptual abilities
