TheIT Administration Professionalis responsible forthe configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical technology systems across GWS Tool Group facilities. This role ensures servers, platforms, and supporting infrastructureoperateefficiently, securely, and reliablyThe IT Administration Professional also provides technicalexpertisefor system enhancements, troubleshooting, and long-term planning to support operational goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Configures, plans, administers, installs,maintainsand upgrades platform server and platform systems software.
Plan andperformsrecovery procedures, scheduling and back-ups andmonitorsbatch processes.
Conducts performance monitoring, capacity planning, workloadmodelingand predictive analyses toidentifyand resolve potential issues (e.g., performance, security breaches).
Collaborates and troubleshoots with internal and/or external resources tomaintainthe expected service level.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor'sDegree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience in system administration, server management, or related IT operations.
Administering Microsoft Windows Server Environments.
Supportingvirtualized infrastructure (VMware preferred).
Managing enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
Experience with Linux server administration is a plus.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and cloud-based services.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities in a production environment.
Basic knowledge of Linux administration is preferred.
Strong understanding of security best practices and system hardening.
Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Familiarity with enterprise backup and disaster recovery practices.
Experience supporting enterprise voice platforms is preferred.
Strong documentation and communication skills
Experience with Linux server administration is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment such ascomputers, servers, and monitors(typically up to 25-50lbs).
Mobility to travel between locations or departments to provide onsite technical support if required by GWS Tool Group.
