Job Description

The Team Lead for the Consolidated Assignments team works collaboratively with the Consolidated Assignments Manager to support and guide the workload team. This role is structured as a hybid-role/working lead position, with a 50% production expectation. The selected candidate will split their time equally between maintaining their own hands-on operational production and handling team leadership, mentoring, and administrative oversight. In this role, you will ensure that team members perform effectively while maintaining Federal Investigative Standards. You will oversee reporting, audits, compliance, and other process-related tasks, while also contributing directly to daily production to meet team and contract expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritize and coordinate Fingerprint machine allocations per region based on system data, ensuring hardware matches regional demand to optimize utilization, minimize shipping costs, and keep the tracking system fully up to date.
  • Monitor the asset pipeline daily to identify machine shortfalls early and keep equipment moving to meet contract timelines.
  • Review the team's daily workflows within case management systems to ensure files are prioritized correctly, communication is clear, and milestones are met.
  • Identify workflow delays or logistical issues early and escalate them to the Consolidated Assignments Manager with proposed solutions.
  • Serve as a primary mentor and resource for the Workload team, assisting coworkers with skill development and performance quality.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to maintain positive team morale, foster a cooperative workspace, and assist in resolving peer conflicts.
  • Participate in ISU, Workload team, and leadership meetings, contributing to the implementation of practical process improvements.
  • Lead by example by consistently meeting or exceeding personal production, accuracy, and efficiency metrics.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and the procedural updates for team members.
  • Maintain internal reference tools, including the Workload Leader handbook, WLL toolbox documents, and instructional videos, utilizing team member skills to update materials.
  • Handle additional daily operational tasks assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A proven track record of exceeding production and quality expectations, demonstrating the capacity to maintain high output in a split-responsibility role.
  • Strong organizational skills and the discipline required for daily, detailed tracking of inventory, data systems, or logistics.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify when case prioritization or team communication channels are slipping.
  • Sound professional judgment, including the ability to resolve operational issues independently or escalate them appropriately to management.
  • Flexibility to align working hours with scheduled East Coast leadership and customer meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and provide constructive, respectful feedback to peers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate complex federal standards and procedures clearly.
  • Proficient written communication skills for drafting accurate, professional correspondence and documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel), databases, and email tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly when contract priorities shift.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience tracking inventory, assets, or data systems on a regional or national scale.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including experience managing data tracking sheets and reports.
  • Experience drafting or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process guides, or team instructions.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding or mentoring peers in a collaborative team environment.
