Rapyd is scaling its global Mastercard issuing business, and we're looking for someone to run the operations behind it. You'll own the end-to-end operational lifecycle of our Mastercard issuing programs — BIN setup, card product configuration, program launches, and ongoing day-to-day operations — across multiple geographies and card products (virtual and physical, multi-currency).

This is the in-house Mastercard operations expert role. When Product, Engineering, Compliance, or Customer Success needs to launch a new client program, configure a BIN, troubleshoot a transaction issue, or understand what Mastercard rules require, you're who they come to. You'll own the operational workflows, keep the program running cleanly, and make sure every new client and card product is launched right.

If you've spent the last few years running Mastercard issuing operations at an issuer-processor, BIN sponsor, or fintech with its own Mastercard program — and you want to own the operations of a global program rather than execute on someone else's — this is the seat.

What you'll own

  • Mastercard issuing operations, end-to-end. Day-to-day operational running of our Mastercard issuing programs: client setup, BIN configuration, card product rollout, and ongoing operations across all live programs.
  • BIN management. Requesting, allocating, and configuring Mastercard BINs; setting product attributes (currency, product type, restrictions, controls); maintaining Mastercard scheme compliance across the portfolio.
  • Mastercard operational liaison. Acting as the operational point of contact with Mastercard — Mastercard Connect, mandates, certifications, scheme updates, and operational escalations.
  • Client launches. Running the operational side of new client onboarding onto our Mastercard programs: intake, configuration, validation, go-live, and handover to steady state.
  • Issue resolution. Troubleshooting card issuing, BIN setup, and transaction processing issues end-to-end. Owning the operational fix and the post-incident process improvement.
  • Workflow and documentation. Building and maintaining the operational workflows, SOPs, and trackers that keep the program running cleanly as volume and complexity grow. Cross-team coordination with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Customer Success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on Mastercard issuing operations experience at an issuer-processor, BIN sponsor, Mastercard itself, or a fintech running its own Mastercard program.
  • Strong working knowledge of Mastercard card issuing operations (virtual and physical), BIN management, and Mastercard network rules.
  • Hands-on experience with Mastercard Connect and related Mastercard operational tooling.
  • Process-oriented: proven ability to build and maintain structured operational workflows, handle multiple complex requests in parallel, and keep meticulous documentation.
  • Comfort with payment systems and APIs at an operational level — able to work alongside engineers, read documentation, and use tools like Jira to track and resolve issues.
  • Fluent English, strong written communication, and the kind of attention to detail that scheme compliance demands.
  • Strong problem-solving in a cross-team environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience operationalizing a new Mastercard BIN or card product launch.
  • Exposure to multi-currency or cross-border Mastercard issuing operations.
  • Familiarity with chargeback / dispute operations on the Mastercard issuing side.
