Job Description

Bugatti Rimac, part of the Rimac Group, brings together two forces that have redefined the automotive world. By combining Rimac’s cutting-edge electric performance and innovation with Bugatti’s 110+ year legacy of crafting iconic hypercars, we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in automotive engineering.

Our team is at the core of this, we work with passion, aim for excellence, and take ownership of what we do. We grow together, pioneer solutions, and deliver vehicles that set new standards.

Get in the driver seat

As an Issue Management Engineer, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned vehicle and software issues, from initial creation and technical triage through root-cause analysis, implementation, validation and closure. You will ensure that issues are correctly classified, continuously progressed and resolved according to program priorities, software release plans and vehicle-development milestones.
Working across Product Development, System Engineering, Software Integration, Validation, Program Management and external suppliers, you will coordinate the technical activities required to identify root causes, define robust resolution plans and deliver verified fixes into the vehicle.
You will love this role if you enjoy investigating complex vehicle behaviours, analysing technical data, coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving issues to closure with strong ownership, structure and accountability.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Own the full lifecycle of assigned issues from creation to closure, ensuring continuous progress and timely resolution, ensuring all issues are properly tracked, updated and progressed through the issue management process states.
  • Maintain clear ownership and accountability across all the stakeholders involved in the issue management process.
  • Perform structure and technical triage of the incoming issues, including initial analysis, identification of affected systems, ECUs and potential root cause domains, definition of priorities based on vehicle impact and program relevant activities.
  • Ensure correct propagation of the issues to suppliers and Product Development Engineer, minimizing misclassification and re-opening through robust technical understanding and analysis.
  • Drive issue resolution by coordinating activities across Product Development Engineers, Suppliers, System Engineers, Software Integration and Validation teams.
  • Ensure all the stakeholders are aligned on root cause analysis, resolution plan and expected delivery timing, actively following up on issue progress.
  • Ensure issues fixes are properly planned and integrated into software releases, coordinating with SW Management Engineer ensuring correct timing and fixes inclusion.
  • Drive issues into validation phase, performing and supporting validation activities including vehicle-level checks, log analysis and functional verification, supporting closure with clear and objective evidences, confirming resolution and no regressions.
  • Perform direct vehicle-level investigation and testing when required to gather additional logs and data, reproduce issues and support root cause analysis, using vehicle interaction to accelerate understanding and resolution.
  • Align with Software Issues Resolution Lead for high quality issues creation based on vehicle findings, additional vehicle investigation and data collection, validation of complex or critical fixes.

What are your core competencies

  • Experience in automotive software integration, vehicle issue management, diagnostics or validation within an automotive OEM or Tier 1 environment.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle-level testing, issue reproduction, debugging, log analysis and technical root-cause investigation.
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical/electronic and software architectures, including multi-ECU systems and vehicle-level integration.
  • Knowledge of automotive communication networks, particularly CAN and LIN, and related analysis tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe or ETAS applications.
  • Ability to correlate vehicle-level symptoms and behaviours with software, ECU or system-level root causes.
  • Experience with software integration, release-management and validation processes within the automotive development lifecycle.
  • Experience using issue-management and traceability tools such as Jira, Polarion or DOORS.
  • Good understanding of automotive development milestones, program gateways and issue-maturity expectations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to technical triage, prioritisation and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong ownership and accountability, with the ability to drive multiple issues in parallel and maintain consistent progress through to closure.
  • Strong follow-up and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate internal teams and external suppliers effectively.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical status, risks, impacts, required actions and resolution plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum three years of relevant automotive industry experience, ideally covering both OEM and Tier 1 environments.
