Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The primary purpose of this role is to establish, grow, and lead KCI's Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications business throughout Texas. The position is responsible for developing client relationships, identifying and securing new business opportunities, growing backlog and revenue, supporting project execution, and establishing a sustainable operational presence capable of supporting long-term growth.

Business Development & Market Expansion

The Texas ISP & OSP Senior Project Manager is expected to:

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with telecommunications carriers, broadband providers, utilities, municipalities, enterprise clients, data center operators, and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities that align with KCI's ISP and OSP service offerings.
  • Support proposal development, estimating activities, pursuit strategies, and client presentations.
  • Increase KCI's visibility, reputation, and market presence throughout Texas.
  • Actively contribute to the growth of KCI's ISP and OSP market share.

Pipeline Development & Revenue Growth

The position is expected to:

  • Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline of ISP and OSP opportunities.
  • Support the conversion of opportunities into awarded projects.
  • Contribute to backlog growth and revenue generation.
  • Assist in developing strategies that support profitable growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing and new client accounts.

Client Relationship Management

The successful candidate will:

  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted representative of KCI within the Texas marketplace.
  • Support repeat business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Promote client satisfaction and long-term account growth.

Operational Development

The position will assist in developing a scalable Texas operation by:

  • Assessing staffing, subcontractor, equipment, licensing, and operational requirements.
  • Identifying operational gaps and recommending solutions.
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts as business needs require.
  • Helping establish delivery resources capable of supporting future growth.

Project Execution Support

While focused primarily on business growth, the individual is expected to:

  • Support successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Promote safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance standards.
  • Assist with risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support long-term client retention through successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience should include a track record of expanding project management duties.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a focus on managing larger-scale projects or programs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
