The ISP (Inside Plant), ILA & Facilities Senior Manager is responsible for the operational management, governance and optimisation of Zayo Europe's Technical Facilities, In-Line Amplifier (ILA) sites and corporate facilities across Europe.
The role ensures that physical infrastructure supporting the Zayo network is secure, resilient, cost-effective and compliant while delivering an exceptional environment for employees, customers and operational teams. Working closely with Engineering, Service Assurance, Procurement and Finance, the role drives supplier performance, operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the estate.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Facilities, ISP & ILA Estate Management
  • Own the operational management of all ISP and ILA locations across Europe.

  • Ensure site availability, resilience and compliance with operational standards.

  • Manage preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Coordinate planned engineering works.

  • Oversee emergency repairs and incident response.

  • Maintain accurate asset and site documentation.

  • Develop lifecycle replacement plans for critical infrastructure.

Facilities Management
Lead the management of Zayo Europe's office and operational facilities including:
  • Office maintenance

  • Security systems

  • Access control

  • Health & Safety

  • Fire compliance

  • Environmental compliance

  • Office moves and fit-outs

  • Building services

  • Utilities management

Ensure facilities provide a safe, efficient and professional working environment.
Supplier Management
Manage strategic suppliers including:
  • Colocation providers

  • Building landlords

  • Facilities contractors

  • Security providers

  • Maintenance providers

  • Utility providers

Responsibilities include:
  • Contract governance

  • SLA management

  • Performance reviews

  • Commercial negotiations

  • Cost optimisation

  • Escalation management

Financial Management
  • Manage facilities and site operating budgets.

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities.

  • Control operational expenditure.

  • Support capital investment planning.

  • Validate supplier invoices.

  • Deliver annual savings targets.

Operational Excellence
Drive continual improvement by:
  • Standardising operational processes.

  • Improving site documentation.

  • Enhancing resilience.

  • Reducing operational risk.

  • Supporting automation initiatives.

Experience
Essential
  • 5+ years managing critical infrastructure or facilities.

  • Experience managing multiple sites across Europe.

  • Supplier and contract management.

  • Budget ownership.

  • Experience in telecoms, data centres or critical environments.

  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Excellent stakeholder management.

Desirable
  • Telecommunications experience.

  • Data centre operations.

  • Fibre network infrastructure.

  • ISO management systems.

  • CDM knowledge.

  • Facilities Management qualification (IWFM/BIFM).

  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
