Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Engineer to join our team as the Isolation Manager. This person is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of isolation/ LOTO procedures and all documentation for all applicable systems, includingelectricalandmechanicalsystemswithintheEdmontonValleyLineWestExpansion project.

Thisroleensurescompliancewithlocal,provincial,andfederalsafetyregulations,whilepromoting asafety-first culture in allconstruction, testing and temporary operation activities. This person will report to the Temporary Operations manager and work as part of the commissioning team and substitute the Temporary Operations manager and OCC control where necessary.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Carry out any duties deemed necessary from the temporary operations manager or commissioningmanagerduringconstruction,commissioningandoperationsofEVLW.

  • DevelopandmaintaincomprehensiveLOTOproceduresforallLRTsystems(e.g.,traction power, signaling, communication systems, rail vehicles).

  • EnsureLOTOpoliciescomplywithOH&Sandapplicable transportationsafety standards.

  • ReviewallLOTOdocumentation,switchingschedulesandmaintainan up-to-dateregistryof equipment and isolations on the project.

  • CoordinateandconductLOTOtrainingforemployees,contractors,andnew hires.

  • Identifyingemployeesandassesscompetence againstexperience/voltagelevelandsystem understanding to be Authorized on EVLW

  • Keepanupdatedrecordofauthorizedpersonnel,calibrationandinspectionof equipment.

  • ProvidetechnicalguidanceandsupportduringLOTO events.

  • MonitorcompliancewithLOTOproceduresacrossthe project.

  • Participateinincidentinvestigations,recommendcorrectiveactionsandoverseetheir implementation of any LOTO-related safety incidents or near-misses.

  • Maintain accuratelogsofallLOTOevents,includingisolationpoints,tagsused,and personnel involved.

  • ConductregularauditsofLOTOproceduresand adherence.

  • IssuereportsonLOTOcomplianceandimprovementopportunitiestosenior management.

  • CommunicateanychangesofLOTOprocedureswithrequired personnel.

  • WorkcloselywithTemporaryOperationsManagerandSafetyteamstoscheduleandplan LOTO activities.

  • InterfacewithprojectteamstointegrateLOTOconsiderationsintonewsystemdesignsor upgrades.

  • Develop procedures for complex isolation procedures against commissioning activities.

  • Strongunderstandingofelectricalcommissioningandintegrationtestingwithinadynamic LRT project.

  • FullunderstandingofElectricalDegradedmodescenarios,testing,and responsibilities

    includingdynamic“Power&Harmonic”monitoring implementation.

  • Assesscontractorselectricalsafetyplansandproceduresasnecessaryforimplementation on ELVW

  • Adheretoandmanageimplementationofall TemporaryOperationsSOPsas requested.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor'sDegreeinElectricalEngineeringorequivalent,Journeyman/Electrician,Safety Management, or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rail traction commissioning, with at least 2 years in LOTO implementation,previouslycertifiedtocarryoutLOTOactivatesonHV,DCTraction,OCSandLV systems. Strong understanding or SCADA and automation.

  • FamiliarwithOHSconstruction regulations.

  • Abilitytoreadandunderstandprojectagreement,mechanical,electricalandsystems drawings.

  • Strongandclearcommunicationisa must!
