Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for leading and maintaining the overall effectiveness, structure, standardization, and continuous improvement of the site Quality Management Systems (QMS) in support of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification requirements and related company objectives. Responsibilities include coordination of site-wide certification activities, oversight of the FPC TX Quality System Manual and related procedures, document control and standardization efforts, system improvement initiatives, and alignment with corporate, customer, and certification requirements.
This position also works closely with site leadership, departments, and the ISO Coordinator (Audit Readiness Lead) position to maintain certification compliance, support audit readiness, coordinate ISO Coordinator meetings, and ensure overall program effectiveness. This position also assists with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System activities, as appropriate, and coordinates and conducts ISO/IATF-related training associated with assigned system ownership responsibilities. Support may be provided across responsibilities, as needed, to ensure successful execution of site certification and compliance objectives.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Quality Management System (QMS) & IATF System Ownership: Serve as lead coordinator for the site Quality Management Systems (QMS), including oversight and continuous improvement of the FPC TX Quality System Manual, ISO/IATF-related procedures, document control processes, and system standardization efforts. Coordinate procedure development and revisions to ensure compliance with certification, customer, and company requirements.
ISO / IATF Coordination & System Standardization: Coordinate and support site-wide ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certification activities related to planning, implementation, management, and continuous improvement efforts, including standardization requirements and alignment across departments.
Quality System Development & Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives related to ISO/IATF systems, procedures, and certification activities. Identify opportunities to improve system effectiveness, consistency, and standardization across departments while supporting long-term certification objectives.
ISO / IATF Training & ISO Coordinator Meeting Support: Coordinate and conduct ISO/IATF-related training activities associated with assigned system ownership responsibilities, including procedures, standardization efforts, and system changes. Participate in and support ISO Coordinator meetings to ensure alignment, communication, and consistent execution of certification program objectives across the site.
Special Projects: Assist and coordinate special projects and operational improvement initiatives assigned by site leadership. Work closely with the Operations Center Director, Operations Center Department Manager, internal departments, and external contacts to support company goals, mission, and shared values. Provide support to the ISO Coordinator (Audit Readiness Lead) role during periods of increased workload, audit activity, or special projects, as needed.
Organizational Collaboration, Compliance, and Policy Adherence: Utilize internal and external resources to foster effective collaboration and teamwork, develop workable solutions, and optimize positive impact on departmental and company goals and results, while ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements. Implement, educate, train, and consistently adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Human Resources, ISO, Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and other applicable regulatory or organizational standards. Perform all other duties as assigned in support of these objectives.
Total Housekeeping Management (THM): Promote cleanliness and order through implementation and support of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance (THM) program, including emphasis on the Nothing Touch Ground and No Visual Pollution programs to help maintain the facility in like-new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
• Education
◦ High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required. B.S. degree with a minimum of six (6) years of direct job-related experience; or an Associates degree with a minimum of 8 years of direct job-related experience.
• Previous Related Experience Required
◦ A minimum of ten (10) years of direct job-related functions within a petrochemical facility.
• Technical Skills
◦ Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, KMS Resolution Tracker system, Works application, Web/AS400 systems, FPG / MCA Workflow system
• Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge
◦ ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training (certificate of competency) by 3rd party
