Job Description:

This job is responsible for partnering with Financial Advisors to assist in delivering holistic investment guidance to existing and prospective UHNW clients. Key responsibilities include providing guidance through personalized product and platform agnostic portfolio construction process utilizing CIO and ISG solutions. This job typically works under direction of senior associates to determine if there is opportunity to deepen UHNW relationships and facilitate engagement with resources across the firm to deliver the full breadth of UHNW capabilities.

The UHNW Advisory Strategist will support Financial Advisors in the business development of UHNW prospects and clients by partnering with Financial Advisors to deliver customized portfolio construction expertise and facilitate engagement with UHNW capabilities across the firm. Strategists will anchor on deep investment expertise to deliver custom asset allocation and traditional and alternative manager selection. Advice and guidance is informed by our Chief Investment Office around portfolio construction, investment manager selection and asset allocation and personalized to specific client circumstances. Additionally, Strategists will partner with Specialists across the bank to deliver appropriate solutions spanning: custom lending, trust and estate planning, philanthropic services, business sales and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Develops relationships with UHNW focused Financial Advisors in assigned territory to educate on team’s capabilities and the value proposition of the UHNW Portfolio Strategies and Analyst.
• Strategizes with those Advisors on how to approach deepening existing UHNW client relationships in their book and how to present full suit of solutions to prospective clients.
• Leads the portfolio construction process for new money opportunities with UHNW clients and prospects.
• Delivers investment expertise that begins with robust client discovery leading to custom asset allocation, multi asset portfolio construction and traditional and alternative investment manager selection.
• Partners and collaborates with enterprise Specialists to ensure full scope of the client’s wealth needs are met.
• Partners with local Merrill Market Executives to deliver value add content to advisors.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience in financial services industry
• 5+ years' sales experience
• Series 7 and 66 licenses
• Strong communication, interaction and presentation skills
• Self-motivated, adaptive, positive attitude and high energy
• Bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience in portfolio construction, manager selection (traditional or alts), investment management or in a Wealth Management investment support/sales role supporting Financial Advisors.
• Enhanced investment credentials (CIMA, CAIA, CPWA, CFA, etc..)

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$160,000.00 - $250,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
