Job Description

Shared Services: Enterprise Data Integrations Team- (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

The Architect 1 is responsible to provide business/technical knowledge and expertise in processes, solutions, integration, data migration, and custom development. Leads the envisioning, architecture, and design discussions to address business needs. Works in conjunction with other IS departments. Creates and contributes to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices. Designs, develops, and articulates solutions based on customer's strategic business or technical requirements. Responsible for the delivery of the overall solution including but not limited to technical architecture designs, business strategies, and delivery of quality assurance plans. Works closely with Project Managers and Program Managers in the design, development, and implementation of the technical content defined in the Statement of Work. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum four years of meeting intensive healthcare business or technical needs required. Minimum one year of Healthcare industry background experience across the continuum of care in an integrated delivery system model required.

Knowledge and Skills: Strong background in a multidiscipline environment including routing, switching, server and storage management, application presentation, scripting, data architecture. Experience in diverse system and technical/application design in large heterogeneous enterprise environments. Knowledge of the system requirements definition (RD) processes and modeling methods and tools. Understanding of SOA, Application integration patterns, UML based modeling, Agile development methodology, LEAN and Six Sigma process improvement techniques. Interpret and create technical plans and operating instructions, schematic drawings, articles from professional and technical journals. Work conceptually with probability and statistical inference. Knowledge and understanding of related Information Technology trends and applications. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong knowledge of project management software such as MS Project, Access, and other project management tools. Relate and communicate positively and effectively with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction. Deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas, vendors, and customers. Excellent analytic and documentation skills. Organize technical work; project manage; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, customer service, and presentation skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; manage multiple assignments; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effectively; think critically; work independently. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid California Driver License required at time of hire. Certification in primary EPIC application is required within assigned Epic applications.
