GENERAL FUNCTION: Coordinates and directs the daily operations of both IRA and Time Deposit areas in Deposit Operations. Assigns work and determines workflow to meet or exceed SLA timeframes. Ensures daily support functions related to Bancorp IRA Time Deposit Operations meets compliance standards mandated internally or externally by the IRS or state law. Ensures accurate and professional service is extended to both internal and external customers.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, appropriate escalation of concerns and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate and coordinate relationships with key line-of-business stakeholders (e.g., Retail, Bancorp Legal) to minimize risks in the end-to-end Bancorp processes for IRA/Time Deposits within Depositor Services.
Collaborate with corporate legal, business controls, retail and product to identify and interpret changes in regulatory situations, industry trends and product specific issues IRS, Federal and state guidelines to mitigate reputational and financial risk and manages their impacts to associated processes, procedure modifications, communicating any changes to the department.
Facilitate project work, including analysis, writing requirements, developing and executing test plans.
Plan, test and implement new applications, document changes, enhancements, mergers and/or conversions.
Assist the manager in planning and monitoring the workflow of a group of employees within an assigned functional area, while maintaining optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness and ensuring that production standards are met and maintained.
Assist in monitoring system and operational controls identifying areas of risk and suggesting possible improvements. Conduct the necessary research and create the supporting documentation for the improvements.
Identify process improvement/efficiencies and assist in implementation of these ideas.
Identify and comprehend the implications of the issues addressed (e.g., Legal, regulatory, operational in nature) and tracks those issues on the appropriate reports and continues to educate staff.
Oversee & assist in resolving escalated operational & customer service issues, quality control issues, or employee issues.
Perform any other duties/projects as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees and promote employee engagement.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in operations or related experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with discretion.
Ability to negotiate and collaborate with others, initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions while considering the risk and accept challenging assignments.
Knowledge of IRS Regulations preferred.
Leadership skills, initiative, detail oriented, strong analytical skills and decisive decision making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
Strong working knowledge of bank operating systems, Raft, ACE, Mobius, Document Direct, Image Archive, Frontier and the Retirement Reporting System.
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities to meet strict deadlines.
