ABM Industries is seeking a Test Assistant (IR) to join our team. The IR technician is responsible for safe and efficient installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical power distribution equipment for customers in the assigned territory. In this role you will travel approximately 50% of the time, and, working under the supervision of Level III or IV Certified NETA technicians or electrical foreman, are responsible for the performance and management of routine tasks and projects, record keeping, evaluation of test data, and preparation of field service reports. Pay $35-$40 Hourly rate, plus overtime. The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test (perform IR scans), troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
• Assist Level III and IV certified NETA technicians and or Electrical Foreman to inspect, test, troubleshoot and service low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, sub-stations, and related equipment.
• Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
• Document test results and complete field reports.
• Maintain strict compliance to regulatory laws
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to travel 50%.
• Must be knowledgeable lockout/tagout and hazardous energy control procedures.
• Clean Driving Record.
• Must be experienced using IR, (FLIR/Fluke or equivalent) Megger, and Omicron test equipment is a plus.
• Familiar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards is a plus.
• Familiar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
This position will be working primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position will be working around electricity and other potential hazards. Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required. Much of our equipment is heavy, so the ability to lift at least 75 pounds is needed.
