The IR Sedation Registered Nurseis responsible forassessing patients, including developing, evaluating, andmodifyingthe plan of care for patients receiving moderate sedation for surgical procedures.

The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the comfort and safety of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • May act as an informal team leader andaidother staff members with support tasks that require considerable judgment and initiative.

  • Review andcomply withthe Code of Business Conduct, all applicable company policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

  • May escalate difficult/complex issues to supervisor for resolution, asdeemednecessary.

  • Assistwith variousprojects asassigned by direct supervisor.

  • Ensures medical records areaccurate, complete, and compliant with policies and procedures. Maintains integrity of medical records, filing paperwork in patient files according to policies andproceduresand performing audits on a regular basis.

  • Assistswithmaintainingenvironmental integrity and aesthetics.

  • Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary, and safe daily.

  • Ensures all facility equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment daily before and after procedures.

  • Makes recommendationsregardingreplacement of equipment and repairs.

  • Assistswith hazardous waste materials, dirty linen, andrugsdisposal.

  • Prepares, organizes, and efficientlyutilizessupplies and equipment to prevent wastage.

  • Attends andparticipatesin meetings,assistingwith meetingagendasand gathering data/material for meetings.

  • Ensureseffective communication with physicians.

  • Attends andparticipatesin meetings with physicians, reporting on assigned topics.

  • Addresses physician concerns in areas of responsibility.

  • Mayassistin developing and revising policies related to radiography to ensure continuous process improvement.

  • Assistsin training and orienting new employees on the equipment.

  • Participates in all facility regulatory and accreditation surveys and action plans to address any deficienciesidentified

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. This will be verified prior to employment.

  • BLS certification, ACLS certification. This will be verified prior to employment.

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you live and will be employed. This will be verified prior to employment.

Travel:

  • Must have theability & willingnessto travel up to 5%.

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Outstanding judgment, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Flexibility, problem-solving, and team attitude.

  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology

  • Proficientwithcomputer software, Microsoft Office Suite, database, and typing skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in English knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to beutilizedwhen operating radiology systems.

  • Experience withmonitoring andmaintaininginventory.

  • Very comfortableasking probing questions to patients.

  • Mustdemonstratea caring, compassionate, and patient-first attitude.

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.

  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements for the Job:

  • The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.

  • May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.

  • Must be able to lift, push,and pull up to 50 pounds and perform patient transfers and positioning of patients up to 400 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand in a protective apron for up to 60-120 minutes

  • Intermittently required to stoop, bend, speak, and listen.

Pay Range:$38.00 - $44.00 per hour

Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level,and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which theposition islocated,in accordance withapplicable laws.
