Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About This Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives while developing your own skills and experience at the same time. As an Employment Specialist within the Together IPS team, you will work across North and East Devon, Exeter, and Mid Devon, with regular team meetings, collaboration opportunities, and peer support.

With clients always at the heart of everything you do, this role offers a rewarding pathway for future progression. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, the people we support, employers, and other key community stakeholders, with full training provided by both Waythrough and the IPS platform.

Alongside a competitive salary, the role offers excellent flexibility, including the opportunity to manage your own schedule, as well as ongoing training, development, and progression opportunities.

What You’ll Do

Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Employment Services help people move into paid employment as part of their recovery journey. In this role, you will:

  • Provide tailored employment support, careers advice, and guidance
  • Help individuals set their own recovery and employment-focused goals
  • Support clients with CV preparation, interview techniques, and confidence-building
  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams, employers, and community stakeholders
  • Build positive relationships with employers to create opportunities for the people we support
  • Encourage individuals to progress towards sustainable paid employment as part of their recovery

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others and committed to supporting people to achieve their goals. You will ideally be:

  • Compassionate, approachable, and people-focused
  • Confident working with a range of individuals and professionals
  • Organised and able to manage your own workload and schedule
  • A strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to learn and develop within a rewarding and varied role
  • Comfortable working independently while also being part of a supportive wider team

What We Offer

We value the people who make a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 27 days’ annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays)

  • Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%

  • Life assurance (3× annual salary)

  • Enhanced sick pay and family-friendly pay

  • Birthday leave and the option to buy up to 5 extra days’ annual leave

  • Professional fee reimbursement for relevant qualifications

  • 24/7 online GP access and Employee Assistance Programme
