Project Officer (National Position) – Vanuatu

About the Role

The Ministry of Health, Vanuatu, is seeking a motivated and organised Project Officer to support the implementation of a regional immunisation and health systems strengthening project. Reporting to the IPM Finance and Procurement Officer and working closely with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance, the Project Officer will provide administrative, logistical and operational support to ensure the successful delivery of project activities across Vanuatu.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Officer will:

• Support project administration, logistics, reporting and compliance activities.
• Coordinate meetings and workshops, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up on action items.
• Assist with finance and procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, processing payments and supporting banking requirements.
• Support the preparation and collation of project reports and documentation.
• Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements for project staff and stakeholders.
• Provide logistical support for vaccination activities throughout Vanuatu, including community engagement events, launches, media briefings and public awareness campaigns.
• Undertake other project-related activities as required by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance and the IPM team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills.
• Experience supporting administrative, logistics, finance or project coordination functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bislama and English, with a good command of French.
• The ability to work effectively with government counterparts, development partners and stakeholders.
• A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel within Vanuatu as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Certificate with a minimum of two years' relevant work experience.
• A certificate or qualification in office administration, logistics, business administration or a related field will be an advantage.
• Previous experience supporting government, donor-funded or development projects will be highly regarded.
