IP Network Engineer - 80-100% (based at HQ in Bern)

To start work immediately or at a later date by agreement.

We are looking for a dedicated Network Engineer who is passionate about the design and smooth operation of our global network infrastructure. If you're ready to take on the challenges of a constantly evolving network and develop innovative solutions, you've come to the right place.

The position is open to Swiss and EU nationals, and to holder of a valid Swiss work permit

Your Experience

• You are the person of reference for the operation of Comfone AG's worldwide IP backbone
• As a member of the IP team you are in charge of the installation, upgrade and support of Comfone's network infrastructure
• You will work with the architects and the Head of IP to plan the future infrastructure
• You strive to automate IT processes and systems and operate our infrastructure with high quality
• You follow the development of network technologies and propose new solutions for Comfone AG
• Together with a highly motivated team, you will manage a wide range of systems: MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, IPSec, overlay routing, IPX/GRX, Cisco ASR, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ACI, Cisco ICE, Arista switches, Fortinet firewalls, and more
• You are responsible for the smooth operation of our network infrastructure. This includes identifying and resolving faults in our global data centers as well as in the office
• You work with and ensure an effective support organization within the IP team, including on-call duty
• You ensure that requests from external and internal departments are processed efficiently and that the network infrastructure can be offered with the highest quality and reliability

Your profile

• You have a CCNA or equivalent training
• You have knowledge of network technologies such as switches, routers, firewalls and are willing to familiarize yourself with these technologies
• You have strong work and project planning skills to ensure that tasks are completed on time and efficiently
• You are characterized by a structured approach and have a strong interest in creatively solving technical or organizational problems
• You are dynamic, reliable and proactive and your passion for your work radiates to your team and colleagues
• You are comfortable in an international environment and you have the ability to work successfully with clients, colleagues and subject matter experts from different cultures
• You have excellent communication skills, both with technical experts and non-technical stakeholders
• It would be an advantage if you have a higher education, be it an HF degree, Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, business administration or project management.
