Position: IP Network Engineer

Mediacom Communications is looking to add a IP Network Engineer who will support planning, testing, and implementing Mediacom IP and Transport networks for High-Speed Data (HSD), VoIP, and Video customers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Baseline requirements, develop, test, and certify the design for Network services.
• Document test plan to certify Cisco IOS(s) for Cisco infrastructure such as ASR 99XX, NCS 55XX, NCS 540, and ASR 99XX router(s).
• Designed/tested/configured IP routing, including static and dynamic routing.
• Fiber to the Home network (FTTH) PON-based design testing and services validation
• Perform network maintenance, diagnostics work, and technical support to cross-organizational teams and engineering associates.
• Working experience in IP network, transport design, and testing
• Prepare test cases and implement transport topologies to certify DWDM and CWDM designs.
• Optical transport testing, e.g., such as unamplified network (Dark fiber / CWDM), Coherent CFP2-DCOs / QSFPDD, 10G DWDM Optics, 400G ZR+ Optics.

• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IP Networking, or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years’ experience in IP network design
• Working knowledge of protocols, including IP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP
• Ability to learn new technologies, troubleshoot IP and transport networks.
• Technical certifications such as Cisco CCNA and Ciena are highly desirable.

• Experience with network tools.
