About the Team:
The Global Legal IP Protection and Platform Governance team operates under the global legal. The team supports multiple business units of TikTok to build and update global external and internal policies and rules, implements IP laws and regulations in each region so as to ensure our platform is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also IP rights holders. Within the legal work framework, the team is committed to protecting IP rights.
We are looking for an experienced IP attorney for a position that offers the candidate a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team dedicated to working with cross functional teams, especially in the UK and EU, to develop and improve our platform governance in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be highly collaborative, self-motivated, a strategic thinker, and intellectually curious.
Responsibilities
- Support business units including TikTok Shop, TikTok UGC, etc. in establishing and updating global or regional IP governance-related policies and education articles, internal SOPs, and developing tools and processes for improving user/right owner experience while minimizing IPR risk in the area assigned by leadership.
- Support business units including TikTok Shop, TikTok UGC, etc. in responding to, investigating, managing, and resolving local high-impact IP disputes or related incidents.
- Work together with cross-functional teams to manage external relationships with brands, industry associations, law enforcement, and government regulators, through directly participating meetings, advising on talking points, setting SOPs, reviewing agreements or memorandums, etc.
- Monitor local legal requirements, industry practices, and business developments. Provide guidance or lead cross-functional teams to implement the same.
- Support or drive global or regional legal projects to promote awareness of IP protection for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage local outside counsels to guarentee the deliverable quality.
- Organize and provide IP training to internal colleagues.
