About the Role
For our client, we are looking for an experienced iOS Developer to join a telecommunications project for an end customer in Sweden.
This is a remote B2B contract role focused on developing and evolving iOS applications in a complex, cross-functional engineering environment. You will work primarily with Swift and contribute to the architecture, design, development, and optimization of core application features and modules.
You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across a large international team, translating requirements into reliable technical solutions while handling asynchronous server communication, debugging complex issues, and improving the overall user experience.
The role is suitable for candidates based in the EU with EU nationality. Occasional travel to the client's office in Sweden may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain iOS applications using Swift.
- Lead the planning and implementation of core application features and modules.
- Contribute to iOS application architecture and technical design decisions.
- Work with iOS SDKs, tools, frameworks, and established development practices.
- Implement and maintain asynchronous communication with backend services.
- Collaborate with backend teams and other technical stakeholders on system integrations.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve complex application and system issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Translate product and business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Navigate requirements and dependencies across a large cross-functional team.
- Take ownership of complex and unique technical problems from investigation through delivery.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Contribute to Agile planning, estimation, and iterative delivery.
- Support application testing, release preparation, and production issue resolution.
- Share technical knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Essential Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional iOS development experience.
- Advanced Swift programming skills.
- Deep understanding of iOS application development, including architecture, design, development tools, and SDKs.
- Several years of hands-on experience building production iOS applications.
- Strong experience with asynchronous server communication and backend integrations.
- Experience optimizing iOS applications from a user-experience perspective.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across complex systems.
- Experience leading, planning, and executing the development of core iOS features and modules.
- Ability to navigate technical and functional requirements within a large cross-functional team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure complex problems and drive them to resolution.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and development practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within distributed engineering teams.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
- EU nationality and ability to work from within the EU.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Sweden when required.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience developing large-scale or business-critical iOS applications.
- Experience contributing to or influencing mobile application architecture.
- Familiarity with automated testing practices for iOS applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile application development.
- Understanding of mobile application performance monitoring and optimization.
- Experience collaborating closely with backend, QA, UX, and product teams.
- Previous experience working in telecommunications or similarly complex technical environments.
- Experience working in large international engineering organizations.

What We Offer
- Project / Industry: Telecommunications project for an end customer in Sweden.

- Compensation: €40–45/hour.
- Start Date: Preferred start between the end of September and October.
- Work Model: Remote.
- Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
