The InZone Program Specialist is a seasonal leadership role within the InZone summer program. The position is responsible for daily operations, staff coordination, attendance tracking, and family communication. This position works closely with Program Aides to ensure a safe, engaging, and well-organized experience for the students attending the program.
The InZone program is a summer program for ages 6-14 years of age. The Program Specialist position works closely with the InZone Program Aide position to ensure a safe environment for the participants of the program.
This role is designed to set positive expectations for student success as well as contribute to the vision of the program.
This position is under the direct supervision of the Manager of Operations, Wellness and Youth Programming for Community Education.
Essential Functions
• Provide a safe environment for the participants of the program
• Be a positive role model and mentor for children
• Work in a cooperative manner with colleagues
• Leads staff meetings
• Develop Program Aide staff schedules
• Manages daily attendance
• Communicate with parents and guardians
• Management of InZone cafeteria supervision
• Coordination of the before and after care programs
• Welcome and support participants
• Effective use of the Community Education registration system
• Evaluation of program data
• Assist with social media updates
• Communicate with Instructors and/or InZone management staff of any problems that may arise
• Be familiar with and contribute to the guidelines set forth in the staff manual, the InZone brochure and parent paperwork
• Conduct staff evaluations of the Program Aide position
• Survey participants and guardians
• Ability to operate motorized carts
• Be able to work a Monday-Friday schedule when InZone is in session
• Provide feedback to the Manager of Operations, Wellness and Youth Programming
Schedule Information: InZone program is scheduled Monday through Friday beginning June 8 and ending August 14. Hours for the Program Specialist position will begin during the month of May. Employees are required to attend all training sessions in the weeks prior to the start of the camp. InZone hours of operation are 7:30am-5:30pm. The Manager of Operations, Wellness and Youth Programming determines staff schedules for this position. Applicants need to be able to work the designated InZone schedule to be considered for employment.
Hours Per Week: To be determined by the Manager of Operations, Wellness and Youth Programming
Education Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred. In lieu of a degree, 4 or more years of relevant experience supervising children’s activities or programs may suffice.
Experience Requirements Previous experience working in youth-based programs.
