Job Description

Mt Wellington, Auckland | Full Time

At FMI Building Innovation, we manufacture and distribute premium aluminium window and door systems throughout New Zealand and Australia. Behind every successful manufacturing operation is someone who makes sure the right products arrive, are accurately receipted, and are available when they're needed.

We're looking for an organised, hands-on Inwards Goods Controller who enjoys working in a structured warehouse environment where accuracy matters.

This is an operational warehouse role—not a management position—and would suit someone who enjoys process, systems and getting things right the first time.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of our inwards goods function, ensuring products are received, checked and processed accurately while maintaining the integrity of our inventory.

Your day will include:

  • Receiving and verifying incoming goods against purchase orders

  • Receipting stock accurately into Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP system)

  • Investigating quantity or delivery discrepancies with suppliers

  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting cycle counts and stocktakes

  • Ensuring goods are correctly stored and labelled

  • Completing receiving documentation and daily reporting

  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe receiving area

  • Supporting our Transitional Facility (MPI) requirements for imported goods

  • Working closely with Purchasing, Production and Warehouse teams to keep operations running smoothly

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys working with systems, takes pride in accuracy and isn't afraid to ask questions when something doesn't look right.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an Inwards Goods, Stores or Warehouse role

  • Experience using D365 or another ERP inventory system

  • A current Forklift Licence (essential)

  • F Endorsement (highly regarded)

  • TFO (Transitional Facility Operator) qualification, or willingness to obtain it

  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy

  • Strong organisation and time management skills

  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers

  • A practical approach to solving problems

  • Physical fitness for manual handling as required

A gantry crane licence would be an advantage but is not essential.

Why join FMI?

  • Stable, full-time position with an established New Zealand manufacturer

  • Supportive team and well-organised operation

  • Opportunity to gain specialist MPI/TFO experience

  • Ongoing training and development

  • Hourly rate reflective of the responsibilities of the role (approximately $28-$30 per hour depending on experience)

If you're someone who enjoys structure, values accuracy and takes pride in keeping warehouse operations running efficiently, we'd love to hear from you.
