We're looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our Tax team on a six-month fixed-term contract. Based in London with hybrid working. This is an opportunity to play a key role in overseeing operational tax matters across our public and private market investments. Working closely with the Head of Tax, investment teams and external partners, you'll help ensure our tax processes remain efficient, compliant and aligned to best practice, while supporting the delivery of excellent outcomes for our members.

As Senior Tax Manager, you will support the Head of Tax in the oversight and delivery of operational and overseas tax matters across Railpen's investment portfolio. You will work across a broad range of tax activities, including withholding tax recovery, overseas tax compliance, tax reporting and operational tax risk management (including ensuring accounts are documented from a tax perspective).
Acting You will act as a key point of contact between our Investment, Operations, Finance and Risk teams, as well as being the primary contact foralongside custodians, third party fund managers and external advisers. You will help drive efficient processes, ensure accurate tax reporting and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. You'll also provide leadership and development support to a Tax Associate, helping to build capability within the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and optimising withholding tax positions, including relief at source and reclaim opportunities.
Managing relationships with custodians, administrators and external tax advisers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Supporting compliance with international tax reporting regimes, including FATCA and CRS requirements.
Providing operational tax input on fund investments, structural changes and taxation of financial instruments.
Supporting wider tax advisory and compliance activities across the business as required.
Identifying and helping mitigate operational tax risks, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and controls.
Driving collaboration across teams to resolve complex tax issues and improve processes

You will be an experienced tax professional with strong technical knowledge of operational taxes within an investment environment with a particular focus on public market investments. Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities, you will combine technical expertise with a collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across a range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
A relevent tax or accounting qualification.
Significant experience in operational taxes, ideally within public markets and investment management.
Strong knowledge of withholding taxes, custody structures and transaction taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
Experience supporting overseas tax compliance and reporting obligations.
Knowledge of FATCA, CRS and other international tax reporting requirements.
Experience managing and challenging the performance of third-party service providers and advisers.
Previous experience leading, coaching or developing junior team members.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively.
Exposure to private market investments would be desirable
