Investment & Mortgage Officer

Responsible for processing new mortgage and investment applications, adequate and timely collection of outstanding investment payments, for maintaining the mortgage administration and for conducting analyses and writing reports related to (mortgage) investments, in order to optimize investment returns and to deliver insights into the investment portfolio, so that the portfolio performance can be continuously optimized.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess new investment applications, primarily mortgages. Assessments include in depth reviews of client income and property appraisals. Applications are then to be presented to the relevant approving Committee under the guidance of the Manager Investments.
• Monitor mortgage arrears performance and make reports/recommendations to the Fatum Executive Investment Committee (EIC), via the Manager and prepare the monthly mortgage provisions for processing by the Finance Department.
• Prepare investment reports on a quarterly basis, including the Fatum Summary Investment Report and analyze relevant bond prices and developments in the investment portfolio and report variations and differences to the Manager and other relevant internal stakeholders.
• Produce monthly lists of outstanding mortgage instalments and premiums, send out payment notifications/reminder letters to customers and agree on payment arrangements.
• Collect mortgage receivables proceeding from the mortgage portfolio.
• Execute mortgage related mutations in the relevant administration and ensure the integrity of the mortgage database, including the monthly mutations and updates and filing all documents in the respective files and folders.
• Co-ordinate and execute the execution of property transactions (auctions, inspections, agreements, etc.), including the preparation of data for the auction and liaising with all relevant auction parties (notaries, intermediaries such as brokers etc.).

Education and Experience:

• Min bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Min. 3 years’ experience in a similar function in banking/insurance
• Good knowledge of insurance products and services
• Knowledge and experience with financial planning and forecasting
• Good knowledge in MS office applications and Excel
• Able to read financial statements
• Excellent communication skills in English, Dutch, and Papiamento, both verbally and in writing
• Spanish is a plus
• Pro-active, problem-solving skills, analytical skills
