Investment Manager to Digital Infrastructure and Solutions team
for a full-time, permanent position in Helsinki.
Digital Infrastructure and Solutions (DIS) is one of Finnfund’s focus sectors and we are now looking for a new member to join the dedicated multinational investment team.
What you will be doing
You will be part of the Digital Infrastructure and Solutions investment team specialising in telecom and technology sector investments across Global South. The DIS team is part of Investment Operations led by the Chief Investment Officer. In this position, you will
Originate, develop, negotiate, and execute new investment opportunities in the DIS sector;
Lead the investment project team throughout the entire investment cycle, including pre-investment evaluation, preparation of investment committee materials, negotiations, structuring, and documentation;
Manage existing investment portfolio and support value creation work together with the DIS team;
Work closely with investees, co-investors, financial advisors, and other stakeholders within the emerging markets investment community and play a key part in the development of the DIS investment pipeline and portfolio;
Monitor the development of digital infrastructure and solutions sector trends in Finnfund’s target countries.
You will be working closely with other members of the investment team and with colleagues across Finnfund: a typical project team has members from our environment and social responsibility team, development impact team as well as from our legal affairs. You will also actively participate in running the daily operations of Finnfund’s Digital Access Impact Fund.
Who we are looking for
An ideal candidate should have a goal-oriented mindset and hands-on approach to solve complex problems. The candidate should have a university degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 6 years of applicable professional experience from investment or corporate banking, management consultancy, PE or VC fund. Excellent writing and communication skills in English are a prerequisite, while fluency in other languages and international investment experience are considered an asset.
A successful candidate for this position has genuine interest in emerging markets and is proactive, flexible, and independent worker with strong teamwork skills. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication and negotiation skills who is social, results-oriented, and not afraid of challenges. The position requires some amount of travel in Finnfund’s target countries, sometimes at short notice.
In today’s hybrid working environment, excellent ICT skills are required.
