The Fundamental Equities team manages a concentrated, high-conviction, low-turnover portfolio with quality growth characteristics. We focus on companies with high barriers to entry and sustainable competitive advantages that benefit from structural growth trends.
As a technology sector Investment Manager, you will perform fundamental research on companies, including creating research notes and financial models, whilst proactively seeking out new investments and managing a watch list of stocks. The role will be responsible for analysing and recommending investments from the global semiconductor and technology hardware sectors. The team also assists colleagues across Railpen’s other strategies, including alternatives, quantitative equities, and real assets.
This role is classified as a ‘Certified Person’ under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and will therefore be subject to the additional requirements prescribed by the FCA.
The successful candidate will bring substantial experience specialising in the global technology sector, with a particular focus on North American semiconductors and technology hardware. You will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality, insight-led investment recommendations in the space and will be able to hit the ground running, quickly forming views and contributing meaningfully from the outset. With well-developed analytical capability and commercial judgement, you are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and engaging with complex, global markets.
You will be somebody who can independently deliver high-quality analysis, communicate their research effectively, and work collaboratively. You will have experience of analysing the global technology sector within equity research gained either on the sell side or the buy side. In addition to technology sector experience, we are looking for someone who has a passion for financial markets and investing.
We are looking for someone who has an open, collaborative and inquisitive approach to finding solutions and can deliver high quality research and generate ideas. Effective communication skills are key for this role, along with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that different perspectives are always valued. We value team players who prioritise the success of the team. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply.
